Happy 2011!

This little man wishes you all a very Happy New Years!

We are having a very uneventful NYE. Trey is working - Boo - and I am off to bed! Hey, with a baby you gotta get all the sleep you can cause you never know when they are gonna wake you up!
Which brings me to my next topic - I need to do updates for my personal records to keep up with Logan.
*He goes to bed at 7 pm every night. It has gone up from 8:30 pm all the way to 7. Honestly, I think he would go to bed at 5 pm if we let him - but who knows what time he would rise the next day! He has been getting up at 4-5 am every morning and wanting 6 oz and then I put him back down to snooze until 7-8 am which is pretty good. It is hard right now because I am still pumping so I have to stay up an extra 20-40 minutes plus what he is up, but it could be worse. And this morning he slept from 7-7 straight through - Hallelujah!!
* He is into blowing bubbles, sucking his lower/upper lips in like the pic above, chewing on his rattle, rings, sophie, and the raZberry. He LOVES his burp cloths - would rather have them in his hands/mouth than his cute lovies. We are working on that :)

*He is moving all around his play mats - using his feet to get him where he wants to go. He turns all around but still isn't very interested in rolling over either way. He still gets stuck on his tummy and either won't or forgets how to roll to his back. This is heaven to me because at this point I still don't have to worry about him flipping over in the middle of the night!

* I am LOVING staying home with him - these last few weeks have been heaven - seeing him learn and do new things every day. It can be hard like today - he was SUPER fussy all day because his teeth are bothering him and once Daddy woke up I gladly handed him right over. Of course as soon as Trey took him I sat on the opposite couch to have a moment to myself and Logan looks over at me and starts smiling and giggling trying to get my attention. Adorable!

Big news! Look who likes his jumper now???

Even a Smile!!!

Checking it all out...

listening to the music play

noticing the froggy on one of the stations

He played in it for about 10 minutes which is WAY better than the other few times we tried. I think he is getting the hang of it all

Showing those teeth who's boss

Still loving his swing - I swear he would stay in the swing all day if we would let him. If I need to get anything done I put him in there and I will have a guaranteed 45 min - 1 hour. I only do it that long if I am cooking and can't stop, etc. He eats it up - he stares around the room for 30 min then cat naps the rest of the time.

Logan is wearing 6-9 month clothing - he can fit into some of his 3-6 month outfits, but he fits better into the 6 months size. We are putting size 3 diapers on him at night since the 2's were pretty full and one spilled over and made his body wet during the night.
He is almost sitting up, but not quite there. He has good strength, but can't quite get it. It will happen - I am sure out of nowhere I will walk in the room and there he will be sitting tall :)
Well that is all I can think of for now, I am off to bed, see you in 2011!

Randomness

We have been pretty fussy. Chewing on lots of toys trying to soothe those sore gums. But he does have his usual happy moments during the day which is so nice for me to see!

Mr. Smug

This is how it starts... the rolling over in the crib. Every time I put him down he does it. I think he is doing it to get me to come back in the room :) He gets on his side then pushes the rails with his feet and flips himself over. Then he gets stuck and can't move and starts fussing.

And looks stunned to be in that position

So, mommy comes in the room and quietly flips him back over and leaves the room. Silly boy!
I made my lemon glazed gingerbread the other day - it turned out pretty good! I think it will be a tradition at Christmas every year :)

Checking out the door jumper - getting used to it

Sophie LOVES having his feet so close to her - I have to constantly watch her and tell her to leave him alone. :)

The camera comes out and this is the face I get most of the time - shock!

talking away to Sophie

Almost Nap Time -pitiful face

We went to meet Emily and West while they were in town - we ate Mexican food and caught up. It was so good to see them - West has grown so much, he is 8 months! Look at that sweet smile - he looks just like his pretty mama!

Okay, so I have been waiting and waiting for the time to pull out the baby Einstein jumper. Since he is 5 months old and you can put them in it starting at 4 months I decided to ask Trey to put it together. He did and we couldn't WAIT for Logan to try it out - we just knew he would love it as much as we already did. And, well, here is what he thought...

Yep. Jumper = No Bueno. At least for yesterday. We thought he was too tired to enjoy it and maybe his gums were bothering him too much. No biggie. We'll try it again tomorrow which was today.
You be the judge of how much he enjoyed the jumper today...
Pitiful tearful face...
Inconsolable...

So, the verdict is still No Bueno. At least for now. We'll try it again in a week and hopefully he will jump right in and soak up the colors and toys. Or, maybe a revisit at 6 months?

Happy Happy Joy Joy!

We had a lovely Christmas with our dear family - it was very low key and absolutely Delicious! Everyone brought a dish like Thanksgiving and it turned out perfect! I didn't take many pics from Christmas - shame on me. But we hosted it at our house this year.

Logan was talking up a storm - oooohing and awwing and cooing and blowing bubbles to his daddy for a long time. It was precious!

It was bedtime - but we took a family pic to mark our FIRST Christmas with our little man.

Definitely hard to get a good pic with a baby - but I think it turned out well :)

We were going out to a late lunch today at Istanbul - after eating all that yummy home cooking food we were in need of something very different - Mediterranean will do the trick!

As a joke Trey styled his hair into a fauxhawk - pretty awesome huh? ;)

To show I have been a domestic diva (in training) Trey took a pic before I started on my lemon glazed gingerbread - YUMO! I think it will be a Christmas tradition every year - it is such a good recipie. That apron I am wearing was given to me at my Kitchen Shower and this is the first time I have a need to use it - now that I am baking and cooking up a storm! Hooray! I know Trey is beyond excited :)

The time has come. Logan is growing too fast. He is now officially in 6-9 month sleepers - I couldn't get the 3-6 mo ones zipped tonight. Ooooh my boy needs to slow down all that growing!

My little chunky monkey before bedtime - look at those rosy cheeks...

One of my favorite things about this kiddo - those ham-hocks. Too cute for words :)

Logan is one blessed little boy - we all love and adore him so much and can't wait to see the sweet little boy he will grow into by next Christmas. We are excited to see what 2011 brings and we wish everyone in blogland a wonderful rest of 2010!

Happy Christmas Eve!!

Logan wanted to shout because he is so stinkin excited about Christmas!

Sweet boy on Christmas Eve - I don't even want to THINK about how BIG he will be next Christmas........ (sniff sniff, blow of the nose)

I could just look into his precious baby blues all day long!

He is using Sophie as a pillow - how funny!

These are his new favorites - loves these rings. I swear, between the burp cloths and rings I would have saved a TON of moulah on this kiddo. he would be perfectly happy chewing on his burp cloths and on these $1.50 rings - ha!

He still likes the RaZberry! yay!

His collection of chew toys - he chews on each of these at least once a day - he goes back for seconds and thirds with his favorites :)

Christmas came a little early for Logan - a super cool Jumper!!

Daddy did such a good job in stalling it - its actually really easy - luckily mommy knows how to do it too!

Sophie was very interested and she was thrilled he was out in the open (not behind his baby gate) where she could lick his feet as much as she wanted.
Example below...

Logan taking it all in and trying to figure out this new thing - this is seconds after we put him in it for the first time. He is a little too small to bounce around - but we figured he can support his weight pretty well so we would let him try it out for a little while.

Seeing his toys that are attached for the first time

It will be a work in progress - I know he will love it someday soon!

Giving us a Wink Wink :)

Practicing his turning around - he pushes off the black chair and makes his way around in a circle. All the while chewing on those rings - he can't get enough of them!

Yep. A little 80's throwback - the shirt off the shoulder. Don't look at me, He did it ALL by himself. ;)

Look! He can grab his foot!

We are wrapping presents, sipping hot coco, and listening to Glee Christmas music. Also on my list of To Do's - watch Christmas Vacation and The Holiday - two of my favorites!!
