We've been...

Doing some of this...

Okay... A LOT of this...

And a little bit of that...

(Loving tummy time!)

And smiling, smiling, smiling! Oh, and Logan went to sleep last night at 8 pm and slept all the way until 5 am!!! Can I get a whoot whoot! :) He ate and then went back to sleep from 7 am until 10 am! Mamma got LOTS of sleep along with him - yay for lazy days! I am not even gonna think he will do the same tonight - just in case that was a total fluke. But if he does, I will be one happy mommy!!!
And I am leaving you with a video of my boy during Bumbo time - he can't get enough of it! He loves looking at his singing flower that Aunt Michelle and his cousins got him - he plays with it every day.

First Family Trip!

We took our first family trip this past weekend and had a blast! My mom took us to Gastons fishing resort in Arkansas. (Long story - Dad was supposed to go with some buddies but work called and he had to return to SA so mom invited us to join her) It was so nice to have a little getaway and Logan loved it!

Look at this load! I packed for what seemed like hours to get us all ready - I really didn't think about how MUCH stuff we needed even to be gone for 2 days. Whoa. Not only did Trey and I need our stuff, but Logan had a suitcase of his own (my dear Louis V. - its only fitting) :) Of course I had to pack tons of onesies, sleepers, every burp cloth we own, socks, blankets, diapers and wipes, all his bottles/feeding accessories, my pumping accessories and pump, play toys, playgym, nap nanny, etc, etc, etc.

Oh yes - here it all is in all its glory... (there was still more added to this pile a few minutes later)

But, we made it there safely and Logan did wonderful - he got fussy the last 30 minutes or so, but overall he was such a good car baby. We are BLESSED! :)

Trey and Mr. Logan in the cabin

The next morning - waking up in the window. He loved looking out of this bay window

Big Stretch!

Sweet Boy!

And the smiling begins - he smiles all morning - love it!

Shy Smile

"Mamma is goofy" smile...

Discovering his hands - very new to him :)

Lookin right in the camera - awwww

We bundled him up to take him on a walk. It was soo chilly - my kind of weather and I ate it up. Love love love FALL!!

Gastons has this neat bird area with some fascinating and beautiful birds - Peacocks, Pheasants, and others.

Super Dad!!

Logan continuing his nap once we made it back to the cabin

He didn't do great when we ate at the Restaurant both nights - but fortunately NO ONE was there the second night - it was completely dead other than us. He just was hungry, tired, fussy, and wanted to be held. Grammy and Logan - smiling at each other - too sweet!

Mom helped out so much - we all took turns with Logan, but she held him most of the meals to let Trey and I eat first, and she even kept him in her room 1 night so we could get some quality sleep! THANKS Mom!!! That meant so much to us - we got some much needed rest :)
Happy baby - his newest discovery (as I mentioned earlier) are his hands. he stares at them, putting them in his mouth and putting one hand on top of the other pulling them both to his mouth. We also discovered that he likes his burp cloths near his mouth and he licks and sucks on them to soothe himself. I got home and pulled out one of his lovies - George the Giraffe and he likes him! He isn't really into the soothies/pacis and he will suck on his wubbanub a little bit, but he knows its different than the bottle and would rather chew/suck on the bottle even if there isn't anything in it. Silly boy :)

He is cooing and smiling more and more - he even giggled the other day once - too precious! Love this stage, we are having so much fun together :) I looked at the calendar the other day and realized I have to go back to work in 3 weeks. UGH. I am so not looking forward to that - I am loving my time with Logan and can't even think about returning right now. I am gonna try to soak up all my time with him and push work out of my brain for 3 more weeks!
Oh, and HAPPY FALL YA'LL! My weather has made it - cooler evenings have arrived!! I am burning my pumpkin spice candle as I type and pulled out my fall soaps this week. Ahhhhh my favorite time of the year!

2 Month Checkup

Logan had his 2 month checkup on Tuesday and he did great! Our little chunk is 12 pounds 10 ounces and 23 inches long - wow! His head is 15 1/2. Of course there were shots at this appointment - I did pretty good. I was nervous but knew he had to have them - and he would get them then the pain would be over in a few seconds. I teared up once then it was over. He cried a big cry for about a minute then calmed down once we talked to him and started putting his onesie back on. Whew - we survived our first set of shots!

Dr. Youngblood said he looked great and healthy which we were relieved to hear. I knew he felt heavy, but you never know if they are growing on track or if you are doing everything right as parents. It helped to have someone else reassure us we are doing something right! :)

She did say to remove all the bumpers out of the crib until the SIDS risk is over - around 6 months or so. I think I am gonna do it. I am such a SIDS paranoid freak (as previously mentioned in a blog post or two) so I will put away the super cute bumpers and bring them back out when he is older. To be honest, he doesn't sleep in his crib yet. He has taken 2 naps in there, for about an hour, but nothing more. I have the video monitor setup but I can't put him in there for night time just yet. I am thinking around 3months? Yep, that sounds good :)

You can see one of his little orange band aids on his leg - poor little guy

Upset face - awwwwww

He has been playing hard with his toys - smiles are happening more and more each day and he plays on his mat at least 3 times a day! Here he is talking away to Liam the Yellow Lion.

He is Obsessed with Liam - he coos at him every time I set him on the mat and sometimes he will just quietly stare at him. Too cute!

He is just so precious - It is crazy how much love you can have for a tiny little baby. One of my favorite parts of the day is watching him learn while he plays and talking to him. I read a book to him during playtime today "Guess How Much I Love You." He quietly stared at him and cooed while I read the book. Precious moment. I can't wait until he gets older and loves for me to read to him. Apparently at 9 weeks is when they can start giggling out loud - I am dying to hear that!
I posted on my facebook status how crazy running simple errands can be with an infant. A quick trip to the Post Office turns into a 2 hour ordeal. We had to change. Feed. Change again from spit up. Feed more. More spit up so a change. Feed me while I held the fussy infant. Pump. Change again (yes spit up is still the culprit). Then we get into the car seat and poop. Literally - coming out all sides. Ohhh yes. A MAJOR blow out. So, you guessed it! Changed again. Then finally, we were on our way out the door. 2 hours later. And it took all of 1 minute at the Post office. Life is definitely different now - but I wouldn't have it ANY other way :)

We have SLEEP!!!

This is Logan's favorite place to be... he LOVES his swing! He wasn't too sure about it a few weeks ago - but anytime I need a few minutes or he is ready to take a nap I put him in it and off to sleep he goes - or sometimes he will just stare around the room and play with his hands. Too cute!

My dear friend John came into town from dallas and got to meet Logan - aren't they adorable?

Logan loved him - they definitely bonded :) It was so good to see john and hang out with him. We grabbed lunch at Purple Cow - YUM!

And yes - as the blog post title says: WE HAVE SLEEP at the Gould Household! Now that I type that I will probably jinx myself and be sorry. But Logan has been sleeping a solid 5-8 hours every night for the past week. He typically goes down by midnight and the past few nights has slept until 7 am! He usually gets up, has a bottle, then goes back down until 9-10 am. Whoo Hoo! At 8 weeks I think that is pretty freaking awesome :) So, basically - I know when he finally passes out at night he will most likely stay down at least 5 hours - so then I know I can get some sleep. Amazing feeling being on a somewhat schedule. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh brings this mama some peace of mind. I know it might not last - but hey, I am soaking it up while he is doing it. ;)
Here are some of the professional pics that Kristin Hollensworth took of Logan at 7 days old - we just love them all!

Miss Soph - this is where she spends most of her days - sleeping in his princess pink bed in the living room. She is no longer welcome on the couch with us while Logan is on there. Bless her heart. So neglected - but still loved!

Look at my little chunk - and that blond hair coming in!

Irene and Luke found out they are having a baby BOY!!!! Ohmygosh - I am in shock. I was for sure it was a girl! Whats up with all these boys?? It seems everyone I know that is pregnant or just had a baby had boys - where is all the frills and pink?? I am very excited that Logan will have another bestie so that is cool. We are so very excited for them and can't wait to see and hold Baby Boy Adams in February! I am thinking round 2 for all my friends will produce all the pink, lace, and girlyness we can handle :)
Like I said... the boy LOVES his swing!
