Lovely Fluffy White Goodness!

This plate in my kitchen says it all! I FINALLY GET MY BEAUTIFUL SNOW/ICE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been desperately praying for, and hoping for, and crossing fingers and toes for a snow day and praise the Lord - it is upon us! I am soooo excited to have the day off work and I slept in, way too late, and leisurely got up, and walked around the house opening all the blinds to see the beautiful white softness floating around outside.

Just starting...

Sophie taking it all in - she was barking at the sound of the sleet, she had no idea what it was! haha

I made myself a yummy toasted PB&J sandwich...

And enjoyed the view a little more...

Here is the difference in a matter of an hour:

Compared to this pic below - lots of snow/sleet!

Trey is sleeping, he got off work at 8 am and passed out. I am going to wash some clothes and be LAZY the rest of the day - watch some TV and maybe a movie - I haven't seen Little Women in a while and I always love to watch that movie during a snowy day because it is a wintery movie and makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside - especially with a cup of hot coco! :)
In Baby G news - nothing new to report. I am back to feeling not pregnant. I know that sounds weird, but I am over the nausea and morning sickness and exhaustion. I have a little more energy but don't feel anything else. No movement, no sickness, no nothing. So, I am not complaining at all - I think I will enjoy feeling pretty normal and good for a few more weeks until I start getting bigger and start feeling Baby G kicking me - I hear that you stop sleeping well once the baby is active inside. Oh Lord - we all know how much I need my 9-12 hours of sleep so I am praying for a miracle on this one! ;)
Enjoy your weekend! I KNOW I will enjoy mine! :)

Cone Anyone?

Well, I had a kinda crappy day. Work was very busy and I am stressed about this very large convention I have coming in Monday of next week and to top everything off - I am in charge of their Pre Con Meeting which will have roughly 30 people in attendance and I have to lead the darn thing! Eek! I HATE speaking in front of people - and I am very nervous. Ugh.

So, at the end of my crazy day, I was pulling out of my parking spot in the garage of the hotel and wham! I run over this stupid cone. Yep, just lovely. I got out of my car to see if I could pull it out and it was hooked in the middle underneath my car. Seriously?! I had a dress on and there was NO way I was getting on the dirty group of that nasty parking garage to pull it out. So, I drove very fast down the lane thinking it would magically come out on its own. No such luck. So, I pulled back around to the Security office and ran inside like a mad woman (did I mention I had to stay at work late today and I wanted to GET HOME!) I begged the guard to help me pull this crazy cone from under my car. Thank goodness he came out and climbed under my car and got the cone. Yay! It was pretty torn up - I mean they are supposed to be bendable right? So, I returned the pathetic looking cone to its home and was on my way!

Moving right along! So, I bought a trashcan for our guest bedroom and it is very different - but cute and matches the room decor. I was going to go for a black or silver one, but this stood out and called my name!

I think it matches pretty well - purple and green are the colors of choice for our guest bedroom to spruce it up a little :)

I also bought ribbon this weekend for my Dress Me Up Platter that my MIL got me for a Southern Living present - how cute is this plate?! Of course I will use it to entertain in the future, but for now, it is too cute to leave in a cabinet - so here it is in my guest bathroom, matching ribbon to the colors, and holding my perfume!

A shot of our guest bathroom - nothing new, but I was so excited I found the ribbon to almost match perfectly and it was on sale!

Tonight, like most nights recently, Trey cooked an amazing dinner! He made goat cheese stuffed chicken, sauteed squash and zucchini, and mashed potatoes - YUM!!

What a sweet hubby I have - I love it that he likes to cook!!! :)

Baby Love, My Baby Love...

Trey and I scheduled our Baby Views (www.babyviews.com) appointment for a 2 D ultrasound to determine the sex of Baby G on February 22nd at 3:30 pm!!! I couldn't be more excited - I will be 18 weeks and we are so READY to find out!!!!! :)

We are taking guesses - of course I think its a Girl and Trey is undecided, at least at this point! Most of my girlfriends think its a boy and a few family members think its a girl! Boy or girl - we hope to be blessed with a healthy/happy baby.

With our package deal from Baby Views, we will also receive a 4 D ultrasound/video further into the pregnancy to get a better view of our baby. Here is an example image I found on google of a 4 D ultrasound:

Amazing isn't it? It is so neat how much you can see and tell from these images - they can determine many other things from them as well - if there are any problems or concerns they can see it earlier on which is good.
I made a point to schedule the ultrasound at the latest time possible - 3:30 pm so I wouldn't have to go back to work - I mean, can you blame me?? How on earth could I go back and attempt to concentrate when I just found out that we are having a precious boy or girl?! No way - I will be rushing to the store to shop for Baby G and start registering!! A mama on a mission!

Remodel Pictures...

I just realized I never posted pics of the finished product from our kitchen remodel! Whoops!
I looks soooo much better - we are thrilled with the finished product and we know this will definitely help us resell the house down the road. But for now, we are glad we get to enjoy it!

I am not finished decorating - and I haven't shown you the other side of the kitchen yet with the table - but we don't have any art work or pictures hung yet - once we do, I will include pics!
This weekend has been slow - I was MOD last night at work - yuck - so I slept in and my mom and I are going to go see It's Complicated - can't wait!!
Have a wonderful weekend!

We Heard It!!!!

Trey and I went to my second doctor's appointment today and everything is moving along perfectly and we even got to hear the heartbeat for the first time!!! The Doctor was moving the instrument along my stomach in search of our baby's tiny heart and finally she found it and it blasted us with how loud and strong it was - so funny! We all laughed and she told us it sounded healthy and strong at 155 beats per minute. How amazing is that? I feel so calm and blessed right now - I have been so worried since I didn't hear the heart last time - Baby G was too tiny - but it was music to our ears today!

I am 12 weeks this week, and not showing at all. I feel a little bloated, and my work hose are getting a little snug - but everything else fits just fine. I am thinking in a month I will start showing a little, maybe? We'll see - I know with your first it takes a while...

We go back at 16 weeks to hear the heart again and do more blood work - ick! Then, I think we are going to do Baby Views to get the 2 D and 4 D experience AND to most importantly find out the sex at 18 weeks!!! My Doctor will only do it after 20 weeks so the sooner I know the better - its driving me crazy not knowing! :)

Oh, and I wanted to mention that I am using this blog to document my pregnancy and our new little growing family - so I might list some boring things about pregnancy or things that sound funny - but don't mind me - I want to remember this stage forever :)

Hope everyone has a great end to their week!

Life is Sweet

I have been bad about blogging during the week - I will try to be better about that :) We have been pretty busy at the Gould household - cleaning up Christmas decorations (yes they are still stacked in my living room in boxes driving me insane - its just been too cold to put them in the attic!) And this past weekend Amber and Andrew came into town with their daughter, Aubrey and we got to spend some time with them. Shame on me, I didn't take any pics - poop.

But I spent time with Amber on Saturday - most of the day and we event went to Babies R Us so she could show me all the fabulous baby items to buy and register for - she is a godsend!! I learned so much!

They brought us a baby gift for Baby G which was so very sweet of them. It is a little ducky bathrobe and a duck that tells you if the bathtub water is too hot. I know all the moms out there already know about the neat new items - but I am just learning and happen to think they are the coolest invention EVER! Whoever came up with that is a genius!

How cute is this little robe??? Adorable!!

I think I forgot to post our very first baby gift from Irene and Luke - they brought us a Razorback which is fitting because we do live in Arkansas - even though Trey and I are not fans and don't follow games - we really aren't sports people - but we can appreciate the gift and purpose! We would probably be stoned if anyone knew we didn't have a single item that supported the Arkansas Razorbacks - so thanks to Irene and Luke for keeping us safe :) They are dear friends!

I have been reading up a storm! From What to Expect While Expecting - to Budgeting for Baby, to this FABULOUS book - The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy. Let me just say that this is by far the funniest, sweetest, and most real book I have read so far - It is written from a mom of four and it includes tons of stories and anecdotes from other moms which makes it very funny and very true. No Doctor's weighing in on the conversation - just plain ole girl talk. The labor and delivery section is absolutely hysterical - and I feel better prepared just reading that than half the medical books I own - I definitely recommend it for any ladies trying to conceive and who are pregnant!

I have been feeling better - whew - those first few weeks, or months, are unreal. It is nothing like I thought it would be, I always pictured when I found out I was pregnant birds would start chirping, a choir of angels would sing in my head for weeks, and I would be floating through life, happy as a clam. Oh was I wrong. Of course I was excited - thrilled to death that my lifelong dream was finally coming true - I am going to be a mom! But, the nausea, day sickness, and exhaustion is enough to send me over the edge. Oh and the hormones. Constantly keeping food in your stomach - so you won't throw up, or keeping the right food in there so you won't throw up, and trying to make it to work on time - after several trips to the Porcelain God is almost impossible. Its enough to just wanna throw in the towel and say "Just Kidding! I can't do this - wake me up from this dream!" But, then, you remember that you are baking a human - a tiny life is inside of you growing, daily, and this little bean needs you to be strong and make it through each day - no matter how bad you feel. That is when a Mom is born. Of course I don't really feel like a mom yet - but I know I am grooming to be one - and that is so exciting!

So, bring on the nausea, the complete exhaustion, the crazy hormones that cause you to cry, scream, and freak out all in the same minute. I can do this. I will do this. And Wednesday when we can hear the heartbeat for the first time, all of that stuff will go away - it will disappear - just knowing there is a little life inside of me. :)

I will definitely update after our Wednesday appointment!! Have a good start to your week!

New Years Eve!

Happy 2010 Bloggers!!!

Trey and I had a very low key NYE and it was lovely! We went to Fayetteville to visit Irene and Luke and one of their friends had a NYE couples party. We brought a food item and spent the evening chatting and watching the NYE specials on TV - then finished the night with amazing fireworks right in their backyard! Somerset and Steven even came for the night and we had a great time with everyone. :)

I definitely missed my champagne toast (I heart champagne) but I did enjoy my Sparkling Grape Juice - it was yummy!

This is a cute pic of Irene and Luke - I took this shot right before they posed - too funny!

Trey and Steven

Okay - so I didn't take very many pics - sorry! And I couldn't get a good shot of the Fireworks outside, so I managed to get the smoke after they went off with the back of Somerset.

New Years Day, we saw the movie "Its Complicated" and it was awesome! We were pretty lazy and ate Chinese for dinner - then went back to their house to relax. We got up on Saturday to drive home.
We had a really wonderful holiday season - I am ready for 2010 and all it has in store for our growing family! :)
