Birthday Boy!

Someone turned the BIG 2!!! We can barely believe it - but he sure is acting like a two year old...words are exploding by the second, repeating every thing we say, playing by himself for longer periods of time, figuring out puzzles and asking for things. AND of course, throwing tantrums. :)  He is such a joy - light of our life. Sweet sweet baby boy. He turned 2 on July 20th which was a Friday and we had his 2nd birthday party on his bday at The Wonder Place. Here are a few pics from his birthday week... and by the way it is HOT!!!!!

Tasting his shoe - ick

His best friends - Rectangle and Triangle. He is obsessed with his shapes puzzles - anything shapes! He carries them around all the time, always putting shapes back in their places and wanting to watch his shapes tv shows like bubble guppies and baby einstein.

Big yawn - it was a rough week because he was sick most of it. Fever virus for 3-4 days! Then teething, snot, and yucky yuckyness.

watching bubble guppies - one of his favorites!

And its PARTY DAY! It was a Farm Theme because he loves animals!

Smores brownies - yumo

Texas Trash Dip

Cupcakes with animal toppers

Favor sacks for the kiddos - inside was an animal lollypop, farm stickers, bubbles, animal crackers, and fruit snacks

Logan on his big day - Grammy and Gigi did a good job of keeping up with him following him around so I could decorate the room and talk to guests :)

He loves the water table at The Wonder Place!

Its his party and he'll cry if he wants too!

Sweet precious baby toddler - love. this.boy.

Lauren and Austin

Logan eating his snack before the big cupcake debut. Since he doesn't eat hardly anything we knew he wouldn't try the cupcake but we didn't think about the candle freaking him out.

Here is the pic when she put the candle in front of him and we sang happy birthday...

Grammy saved the day - ha! He just wanted out of that chair

The party was a success - everyone had a blast and he was in a pretty good mood. So special to celebrate not only with his little friends, but with sweet family - Michelle, Richard and Logan's cousins came into town to help celebrate!

Cheesin face :)

Crazy face. 50 Shades of Logan... (ha only funny if you've read the book...)

Cringing face...

Happy face - mom move while I am watching my video!

Playing with Michelle's phone in the restaurant. He holds the phone up to his hear at home and says "hello"  "oh okay" and "hey girl" its hilarious!!

Daddy and Logan sharing his night routine movie - big birthday boy

It was a great day - and I am just now realizing we didn't get any pics of family that day. None of Trey, family, grandparents or Trey's Sister and he family! EEK - where was my brain...

Logan is having meltdowns left and right these days. This is before breakfast. Mommy did something wrong in his eyes - but he couldn't tell me what. He sobbed and cried forever until he finally tried a bite.

AND we had our first major bloody accident. He was mad because his bubble guppies ended in the AM while I was getting ready for work. He ran from the TV to his chair that was backed up against our coffee table and slammed into it and I heard a crack. He slammed his forehead into it and I immediately picked him up. Then, I pulled him back and his face was covered in blood - all in his eyes, nose, all over and it was so hard not to freak out! I shakily took him to the bathroom to wash his face off and called Trey. Finally I saw it was coming from his forehead and it stopped almost immediately. It just looked awful.

This is the aftermath. Once I cleaned his face off. It was so scary. Luckily he calmed down quickly but my nerves were shot the rest of the day. The plight of being a mommy :)

We survived our first traumatic bloody incident - yay! Hopefully we can hold off on the next one for a few months??

It is so unbelievably hot here - miserable. But the other morning I raced us to the Zoo before it got claustrophobic outside and we enjoyed a quiet morning with the animals. It was shaded and a little breezy so it worked out well. He ate his snack in the car before we headed home.

He is so sweet - giving kisses to everything. Even Sophie. He is trying to learn about boys and girls - well mainly that he and daddy are boys and mommy and sophie are girls.
He is wearing a size 6 diaper and he still eats the same items all the time.
He sleeps fantastic - 7 pm - 7 am and 1 nap at 1 pm. He is into shapes, animals, colors and numbers. He can now count to 13!!
He loves trying on all shoes - esp daddy and mommys. He can walk pretty well in my heels around the house  - haha.
What a blessing he is to our lives - such a beautiful gift!

The Toddler is ALMOST 2

How did 2 years FLY by? Oh my goodness. He is growing up before our eyes and its such a fun age! The tantrums have calmed down a little and he is in a learning spurt - in the last couple of weeks he has learned about shapes, colors, and numbers!! Its crazy how much he retains! He can count from 1-10 by himself if counting toys or something in a book. He can recognize some colors and definitely his shapes. He points them out at the grocery store in the aisles - some of our aisles have triangle shapes and he knows that is what it is (of course he speaks toddlerese but we know what he is saying it sounds very close!) Its unbelievable - we are so proud of him!!!

He is so very sweet, hugs and kisses all the time - he is saying all sorts of words and can make his "F" sound pretty well for Waffle and Fan. Such a big boy! He  is starting to listen as we say no and its like he is understanding more. He knows the word Hot, but doesn't quite get what it means yet - he knows it might mean he needs to stay away or be careful but he thinks the washer can be hot - haha so he is pretty funny.

This is his usual morning routine - he wakes up and I turn on his lamp and give him a few books and toys to play with inside his crib for quiet time while I wake up and get everything prepared - putting the dog in the kitchen and turning on my coffee - brushing my teeth! He does so good - then he says "Up" when he is ready to get down for the day.

He knows all the colors of his lamp he knows they are circles - so cute

Didn't get many good 23 month pics - he wouldn't smile at all.

He loves Baby Einstein at night time, but during the day he is loving Bubble Guppies! It actually teaches them some things which I love - he likes the one that has the Spring Chicken that says "Bawk Bawk Bawk" and he goes all around the house doing that and asking for Bubble. He will sit the entire show and laugh and learn things that he repeats later. We don't watch it a lot - but at least 1 time a day

We are doing swimming lessons with Lauren again this year and its going okay - he isn't too fond about the lesson itself. I think he is scared and irritated that he can't play in the toddler area the entire time we are at the pool. So we are still giving it a try. He cries and fusses the whole time. But when he is in the toddler area and in control he loves it!

He also likes to lay and roll around on our bed - we tickle and he plays with some of his toys - hides under the covers and watches the fan.

He played with his hamper for a long time yesterday - going inside and out - laughing - he thought it was hilarious! He is really getting this funny personality - he will try to make you laugh and he definitely likes for us to tickle and do funny things to laugh together. He is still such an amazing sleeper and he is not throwing fits to get into his car seat or changing his diaper any more. He just moved up into a size 6!

Oh and also - he has been telling us "poopie" and sometimes he is correct. But sometimes he just pees. But he is beginning to recognize that something is going on down there when he says "poopie" of course I am no where near potty training! I have heard that can be a huge debacle so I am waiting as long as possible - until he is ready. Such a smartie!!
We are getting ready for his 2nd birthday at The Wonder Place on his actual bday in July....of course I will have tons of pics to post - I cannot believe it!
