Love Sweet Love. And Eggs.

Its Valentines Day Weekend and I am READY for this work day to be over with! I know I have had two snow days this week - so technically only worked 3 days, but it has seemed to DRAG on forever.

Yesterday, I received eggs from a guy that I work with. He has chickens at his house and they finally started laying eggs. Trey and I have been excited to try some of these natural, fresh colorful eggs! I am an egg-lover, but don't eat them as much as I would like. Mainly laziness of the morning - not wanting to cook them for breakfast and I totally forget about eggs for dinner. I do love a yummy meal of eggs and toast - sometimes bacon! MMMMM, delish.

Anyway, so here they are -in all their beautiful glory - so pretty and fresh. We can't wait to try them!!

Sorry, the pic would not turn the correct way when I saved it - whoops!

Look at those pink eggs - love it!

Ahhhh, love is in the air! I love almost every holiday, but Valentines Day has always been a fun one - very whimsical and of course filled with love! Even when I was in Junior High/high school I loved V-Day. I must admit, I almost always had a boyfriend or love interest (and great friends) to share it with so that definitely helped, I know not everyone has fond memories of Love Day. But I still have mementos from years past, hand made valentines cards - poems, love notes, etc. I am definitely a keeper of memories! :)

But, this time in my life is by far the best - I have the love of my life that I get to spend this fabulous holiday with and a baby on the way. (It will be so fun to dress up that precious Baby G next year!!!!) Trey and I won't do anything big this year, but we will have dinner and exchange sweet cards and maybe chocolates - yum! We are typically not too creative because we save that for our anniversaries :)

Here is my Love Sweet Love plate in my kitchen - it makes my heart melt....

Front Door has the pink heart and heart mat...ahhhhhh

And then there is my inspiration for my Love Plate in the kitchen - this gorgeous garden flag! How adorable is that??? And look - you can still see the beautiful white snow!

I am ready for the Day of Love - we might even have our pink eggs to celebrate!

Baby G (AKA the Avocado)

I am 16 weeks - wow how the days have flown by! Baby G is doing great - very healthy and has a strong heartbeat of 148 beats per minute. It is always so neat to hear that little beating heart - such a calming experience. As soon as I hear it I instantly breathe a sigh of relief.

Baby G is the size of a Avocado - one of my favorite foods!

In the next few weeks the baby will double the weight and add inches to its length. So i guess that means I will really start to show in a week or two! I still just have a tiny bump - easily hidable in clothes and I can still wear most of my outfits, except buttoning jeans. But that is what my tummy sleeve is for! :)
My Doctor asked me if I have felt Baby G yet and I said no. She said it should happen in the next few weeks - most women can start to feel babies around week 18 and definitely by week 20. That is very exciting! I can't even imagine what it will feel like - very surreal - I hear it is like butterflies, or popping popcorn in your tummy. Or a gas bubble. Haha!
12 more days and then we will know weather we buy pink or blue clothes!!!!! Yay!!!

Unexpected Winter Wonderland!

HAPPY SNOW DAY!!! We get another snow day and I couldn't be more excited!!! I figured we would only have that one day a week or so ago, but the Weather Gods had plans - thank goodness - I can always use a day or two off work!

It has probably snowed 4-6 inches and it just stopped to start raining or sleeting - BUT - it is sooo beautiful! We haven't had a snow like this in years - definitely my idea of a winter wonderland.

Our neighborhood - looking down our street from my house

Trey shoveling snow so we could run to Walgreens to pick up my prescription.

Look! Not a few minutes later and this much collected over where he just shoveled!

Precious pooches staring at the snow falling

We finally ventured out to go down the street and here is what we saw

A Fedex truck and a large 18 wheeler caught blocking the entire road!

Cars stuck everywhere - thank goodness for 4 wheel drive!

Yay! We made it to walgreens - now to make it back home...

Look at that pretty snow falling - I love it!

Praise the Lord we made it home safely last night from our trip to San Antonio! I am off to enjoy the rest of my snow day and will hopefully continue to enjoy it tomorrow too :)

San Antonio for the Weekend...

We unexpectedly went to San Antonio, Texas this past weekend for a funeral. Trey's Welita Jane passed away this week and we drove Thursday to make it to her funeral on Friday. It was such a sad time for him and the family, but we were very glad to be able to make it there for the service.

My MIL graciously watched Soph for us and we took Bella on the road since my mom was going to be flying to SA to see my dad this weekend. Bella has always been a fantastic road doggie - we took her everywhere when she was little, a couple of beach vacations, texas trips, and more. She is so pleasant and just sits/sleeps nicely in her crate the entire way.

Bella on her potty break:

Here she is once we arrived at my dad's apartment in SA. She was so tired - long 9 hour drive from LR to SA!

On the way down we always try to stop at a favorite: Whataburger! It is sooo yummy and we don't have one in LR so we take advantage in Texarkana.

Friday, we went to lunch with my parents at a super delish mexican restaurant and then went to a Baby store where mom found gender neutral cute onsies and bibs at a major deal!
Trey and I went back to the apart to change and then went to the funeral service. It was very nice and I got to meet most of the family. It was so special for Trey to be there and an honor for me to be able to attend.

We went to dinner at an Italian Restaurant which was great and went to see the movie Legion. Um, it was okay - but pretty scary!!

The next day, Saturday, we went to eat at the Cheesecake Factory for lunch - YUM - my FAVORITE!!! There is always so much to chose from but the meals never disappoint and neither does their cheesecake!

Trey had the Red Velvet Cheesecake

And I had blueberry white chocolate! A little slice of heaven!

We went to walk around the mall a bit to burn off that cheesecake and I finally bought a maternity tummy sleeve to fit around jeans that no longer button, but you can still fit into. Yes, its depressing to have clothes not fit, however, it is for a great reason and I keep telling myself that. :)

This little thing can fit around your expanding belly and boobs - so I hear. Can't wait to try it on!

Trey and I at the apartment before going out to dinner with Claudia, Alex, and Stephen. We met them at a yummy Japanese Restaurant and they did have great avocado rolls and edamme. It was so good to see them and catch up - the kids are growing so much - Alex will graduate in 2 years! Geez we feel old! It is scary for me to think that when she graduates we will have a 2 year old! OH MY. I am horrible and didn't get a single picture of us - my pregnancy brain is in full effect - what can I say? ;)

Sunday we drove home, but we did get to stop at our favorite mexican fast food restaurant: Taco Cabana! Soooooooo goooooood!! (and super cheap!)

So, I didn't get very many pics of us or family - shame. on. me. But we did have a nice time with everyone - despite my lack of photos. An unexpected, yet pleasant weekend!

An Apple Today...

Well - I have a Bump! I tried to take a few pics, but I am wearing black (sorry work clothes) and I am not sure if you can really see what I see in the mirror - but hopefully you can tell there is a little something there. :)

My stomach is so hard - I press it at night while I am laying down and it is so firm - very strange. Baby G is growing so much!

This week at 15 weeks and Baby G is the size of an apple! How cute is that? Another interesting fact, he/she is light sensitive - the eyes are still shut, but if you shine a flashlight at the tummy, the baby is likely to move away from the light! Whoa!

I haven't had any weird cravings, mainly normal stuff with cravings times 10 - like I really was dying for Spaghetti and meat sauce yesterday. That is all I could think about - and I normally don't eat plain ole spaghetti, but Trey made me some yummy pasta with sauce and it was AMAZING!!!
Next week is our Doctor's appt and we will get to hear the heart beat again - cannot wait!
Happy February (Love) Month! :)

Lovely Fluffy White Goodness!

This plate in my kitchen says it all! I FINALLY GET MY BEAUTIFUL SNOW/ICE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been desperately praying for, and hoping for, and crossing fingers and toes for a snow day and praise the Lord - it is upon us! I am soooo excited to have the day off work and I slept in, way too late, and leisurely got up, and walked around the house opening all the blinds to see the beautiful white softness floating around outside.

Just starting...

Sophie taking it all in - she was barking at the sound of the sleet, she had no idea what it was! haha

I made myself a yummy toasted PB&J sandwich...

And enjoyed the view a little more...

Here is the difference in a matter of an hour:

Compared to this pic below - lots of snow/sleet!

Trey is sleeping, he got off work at 8 am and passed out. I am going to wash some clothes and be LAZY the rest of the day - watch some TV and maybe a movie - I haven't seen Little Women in a while and I always love to watch that movie during a snowy day because it is a wintery movie and makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside - especially with a cup of hot coco! :)
In Baby G news - nothing new to report. I am back to feeling not pregnant. I know that sounds weird, but I am over the nausea and morning sickness and exhaustion. I have a little more energy but don't feel anything else. No movement, no sickness, no nothing. So, I am not complaining at all - I think I will enjoy feeling pretty normal and good for a few more weeks until I start getting bigger and start feeling Baby G kicking me - I hear that you stop sleeping well once the baby is active inside. Oh Lord - we all know how much I need my 9-12 hours of sleep so I am praying for a miracle on this one! ;)
Enjoy your weekend! I KNOW I will enjoy mine! :)

Cone Anyone?

Well, I had a kinda crappy day. Work was very busy and I am stressed about this very large convention I have coming in Monday of next week and to top everything off - I am in charge of their Pre Con Meeting which will have roughly 30 people in attendance and I have to lead the darn thing! Eek! I HATE speaking in front of people - and I am very nervous. Ugh.

So, at the end of my crazy day, I was pulling out of my parking spot in the garage of the hotel and wham! I run over this stupid cone. Yep, just lovely. I got out of my car to see if I could pull it out and it was hooked in the middle underneath my car. Seriously?! I had a dress on and there was NO way I was getting on the dirty group of that nasty parking garage to pull it out. So, I drove very fast down the lane thinking it would magically come out on its own. No such luck. So, I pulled back around to the Security office and ran inside like a mad woman (did I mention I had to stay at work late today and I wanted to GET HOME!) I begged the guard to help me pull this crazy cone from under my car. Thank goodness he came out and climbed under my car and got the cone. Yay! It was pretty torn up - I mean they are supposed to be bendable right? So, I returned the pathetic looking cone to its home and was on my way!

Moving right along! So, I bought a trashcan for our guest bedroom and it is very different - but cute and matches the room decor. I was going to go for a black or silver one, but this stood out and called my name!

I think it matches pretty well - purple and green are the colors of choice for our guest bedroom to spruce it up a little :)

I also bought ribbon this weekend for my Dress Me Up Platter that my MIL got me for a Southern Living present - how cute is this plate?! Of course I will use it to entertain in the future, but for now, it is too cute to leave in a cabinet - so here it is in my guest bathroom, matching ribbon to the colors, and holding my perfume!

A shot of our guest bathroom - nothing new, but I was so excited I found the ribbon to almost match perfectly and it was on sale!

Tonight, like most nights recently, Trey cooked an amazing dinner! He made goat cheese stuffed chicken, sauteed squash and zucchini, and mashed potatoes - YUM!!

What a sweet hubby I have - I love it that he likes to cook!!! :)

Baby Love, My Baby Love...

Trey and I scheduled our Baby Views (www.babyviews.com) appointment for a 2 D ultrasound to determine the sex of Baby G on February 22nd at 3:30 pm!!! I couldn't be more excited - I will be 18 weeks and we are so READY to find out!!!!! :)

We are taking guesses - of course I think its a Girl and Trey is undecided, at least at this point! Most of my girlfriends think its a boy and a few family members think its a girl! Boy or girl - we hope to be blessed with a healthy/happy baby.

With our package deal from Baby Views, we will also receive a 4 D ultrasound/video further into the pregnancy to get a better view of our baby. Here is an example image I found on google of a 4 D ultrasound:

Amazing isn't it? It is so neat how much you can see and tell from these images - they can determine many other things from them as well - if there are any problems or concerns they can see it earlier on which is good.
I made a point to schedule the ultrasound at the latest time possible - 3:30 pm so I wouldn't have to go back to work - I mean, can you blame me?? How on earth could I go back and attempt to concentrate when I just found out that we are having a precious boy or girl?! No way - I will be rushing to the store to shop for Baby G and start registering!! A mama on a mission!
