Year Appointment and Fayetteville!

I have been MIA...sorry folks! We had Logan's year doctors appointment and it went really well. He is 21 pounds and 29 1/2 inches tall. He is tall and a lean machine! The doctor didn't seem concerned with him only weighing 21 lbs but we thought that sounded a little on the light side. But he is a healthy boy - thank goodness for that! Bless his heart - he started crying the moment we laid him on the tables to get his shots, but not because he knew what was about to happen, because he hates being restrained and he didn't know the two nurses. He of course screamed when they stuck him but quickly got over it once I picked him up :) Sweet baby. I asked her oodles of questions and she even said he could have Peanut Butter now - whoa! Not sure what I wanna do about this since its such a hot topic of opinion but I will think on it. I have PB every day one way or another so I desperately want him to like it and not be allergic, but you never know...

She gave the green light for him to try EVERYTHING. So, we are easing him into it - he has tried pizza, waffles, black beans, feta, scrambled eggs, banana bread and a few other things here and there. He really liked black beans and pizza! yummy!

So the transition is now going from bottle to sippy cup with whole milk. But, the kicker is that Logan has been drinking way too much formula (which I didn't know) and needs to cut back so that will make him eat more food. So basically we have to not only get him to like a sippy cup with cold whole milk, but also decrease the times he gets the milk and not offer it before a nap! Plus we need to give him snacks through the day - and all I am thinking is there aren't enough hours!!

Logan has taken his sippy cup for a few months with water at meal times. But only a few sips. So we gave him the sippy cup with milk today before nap and he was so upset. Frankly, there is no other word to use so I must say he was quite pissed. He knocked the cup right out of my hand onto the floor and sobbed and sobbed. Poor guy. He took his nap and was probably thirsty. But you gotta start somewhere. So since that didn't go over well I wanted to experiment with seeing if he hated the milk or was upset about no bottle. For second nap I gave him a bottle with 2 oz formula and the rest whole milk. Guess what? He downed the whole bottle. Yep. Its bottle love. So, for the rest of the week I think we will put a little formula and the rest milk then once he is totally on all whole milk I will get rid of the bottles. I know they are a comfort/security thing for him but he's a year now and they must go. Parting is such sweet sorrow!

Year Stats!
-Logan has four bottom teeth and 2 top with 2 more coming in
-He is wearing size 4 diapers
-He is eating 3 meals plus 1-2 snack times and was drinking 30-36 oz formula a day
-Sleeps great! 7 pm - 6:30 am then bottle, then back down until 8-8:30 am. He takes 2 naps usually 45 min - 2 hours depending on the day

We went on a little trip to Fayetteville to visit Irene and Cole for a few days this past week. It was soooo nice to spend time with them and for Irene and I to chat while the boys slept. But boy was I BUSY. Logan kept me up and going all.day.long. He never stopped. He was into everything - reaching for items on the bedside table...

looking out the door...

climbing in Cole's bouncy seat which he is WAY to big for!

lots of play time!

He loved this glass table - he would crawl under it then pull himself up and bang his hands on the top. Its so different when you are at someone elses house - I know every nook and cranny in my house but you dont in others so I was constantly pulling him out or making sure doors were closed, etc. Whew - but it was so worth it! It was really interesting he did great in the 3 hour car ride but kind of freaked out once we got there. He was scared of their big dogs but then would laugh hysterically at them. It was a love/hate relationship ;) Then he didn't know what to think of sweet Cole. He would stare at him and when Cole would coo and talk he would cry or get upset. The strangest thing.

Sweet Cole - he is such a happy baby!

Absolutely precious!!

I couldn't get a super good pic of the two because Logan wouldn't smile when he was around Cole he was so serious most of the time

I love this photo: The Ultimate Staredown....

Logan getting upset :(

playing with his vacuum

Cole eating rice cereal - he looooves the stuff, wants to eat the spoon and bowl! haha it was too cute

It was funny, on Thursday the boys had opposite schedules - Logan would take a 2 hour nap then Cole was awake, then Cole would go to sleep while Logan was awake. Yes, exhausting, but we got our Mama time when both boys went to bed :)
We went to a playdate at her friend's house and it was fun to see the girls I have met in Fayetteville before - some of Irene's best friends

Besties :)

Logan loved this lawnmower

Logan having to learn to fend for himself - this little boy tried to boss him around but he didn't let it bother him. Shake those haters off :)

I left after the playdate and Logan did great again in the car - he got a little fussy, but I pulled over to give him a bottle and he lasted the rest of the way! I brought his cds and I sang along with them most of the way which kept him occupied. When he got fussy I sang his favorites loudly and it calmed him down. Whew - I was glad to be home after a long day in the car. But so sad to leave Irene - wish we lived closer :)

Me and my big one year old!

trying whole milk in his sippy cup....

Not sure what to think - brrr its so cold! We made it through Crib Bootcamp we can make it through anything!!! :)
