LOVE AND MARRIAGE...

Welcome Friends!

Its time for week two of Weddings with Kelly's Korner (http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/) and this time its Wedding Party and Flowers! I adored every minute of my engagement and wedding planning - it was such a great experience for me and I enjoyed having my mom and dear friends help me and support me through the process. Of course Trey was a godsend too - he was patient and helped with some of the details he was interested in and let me take over on other parts. Now, I am by no means saying the entire engagement was perfect and the wedding process was peachy 100% of the time - but for the most part, it was so much fun! :)

I will start with my flowers - I hired the BEST Wedding Planner ever and she also is a florist! She did an amazing job with capturing my thoughts and ideas and making it happen. Pink is my favorite color, and I wanted hot pink flowers to pop off of the chocolate and blue wedding colors. It turned out beautiful!!

There is only one or two of these pics that are professional (I don't have digital prof pics)- my dear friend Katherine took some wonderful pics!

I ordered cocktail napkins with quotes from this great website. This was one of my favorites - hilarious, but so true! :)

My Beautiful girls!!!
All of my best friends I have been friends with since elementary school. They are so dear to me and I don't know what I would do without them! Below is a pic of all of us from high school, but I have known most of these girls since Elem or Junior High! We have an amazing group of girls and we are blessed to still keep in touch and get together when everyone comes home for the holidays.

Luke and Dewayne. Trey is in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and Dewayne is his little brother - he is such a sweetie and we were so happy he could be a part of our day!

My Maid of Honor is Somerset (my best friend of 22 years) Irene is next and she has been my best friend for about 18 years, Katherine and I have known each other and been instant besties since Pre school! Then, Ashley and Amber - my sweet cousins who are like sisters and Catherine P and I have been dear friends since I was three years old. Alex on the end is my new niece! :) Such a beautiful group!

And last, but certainly not least, we are blessed and grateful for our dear families for which without their constant support, love, and guidance, we would be lost. We are so lucky to have them in our lives and give thanks to God for our constant blessings.

Going To The Chapel.....

Welcome Everyone! This is my very first time to participate in Kelly's Friday Fun! Her website can be viewed at: http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/

This week is "Show Us Your Life: Wedding Dress". I am so excited about this week because I absolutely LOVED my wedding and everything that went into it! It was one of the most amazing experiences and I will forever cherish all my special memories and pictures from that day. Please enjoy and if you have questions ask away! :)
This is me getting ready - they just put the veil on - I love this pic because I am so happy and can't stop smiling - ahhhh I loved that day...
This was when the makeup lady was doing finishing touches on my lips - good back of the dress shot
This is me and my handsome groom! This is a scanned picture - sorry for the weirdness. But this is one of my favorites - I was in love with my dress, blue sash and pink flowers - as well as my new husband!
Here is a pic of my dress in the front - a long shot. I adored my dress. I found a picture in a magazine, one of the first Bridal Magazine's I ever picked up! I tore that pic out and went to Lowe's with my mom. They actually had that exact dress and I just knew it was meant to be... In the pic the bride had a tan sash - I knew my wedding colors were Chocolate and Blue so I chose to add a splash of color onto my dress and it turned out great :) (Also in the pic are Irene and Luke - two very dear friends that live in Fayetteville)

The Big Toast! Champagne happens to be one of my favorite drinks so we did have fun toasting and eating our yummy cake!
The Smooch - I loved our cake!
We celebrated our 2 year anniversary June 30th and it was neat to watch our video again and look at our album - ahhhh, love is in the air!

All a Girl Needs is a Little Bend and Snap!

Trey had a minor operation procedure on his left hand last Thursday. Nothing too serious - but he had to stay home from work for a couple of days to recover. He was in a lot of pain Friday morning, but felt better by the afternoon and evening. We had planned to go to Fayetteville months ago to stay with Irene and Luke and for Irene and I to go see the Legally Blonde Musical, so we hated to miss the trip... Trey said he would be okay and I drove his new car while he slept most of the way.

We made it there in time for dinner and Irene and Luke wanted to take us to Abuelo's a YUMMY Mexican restaurant. Let me just say - it was A M A Z I N G!!!

Irene cooking breakfast for us the next morning, on Saturday. She made a delish french toast casserole. MMMMM!

Just look at that fabulous breakfast!

Trey and Luke playing Wii - thank goodness Trey was feeling much better, thanks to those pain meds :)

Trey helping Irene with dinner Sat night. She cooked grilled chicken, grilled squash, and Trey made black beans with a little seasoning. Super good!

Don't let me forget the tasty Watermelon - it was so pretty, good coloring and tasted great!

Don't worry - I did not eat that entire half... haha
Just like a Watermelon should look... beautiful

Their four-legged family members (minus one other kitty)

Irene and I before the Legally Blonde Musical

The stage set before the performance - it was PINK and so cute!

The musical was hilarious and so good! We laughed through the whole thing and it was very well done and all the actors did a fantastic job. Truly perfect! After we got home, the boys were watching the UFC fight on TV and we headed to bed shortly after. Sunday morning, Irene made a sausage roll (once again amazing) and we all played Wii before Trey and I left for LR.
We are so blessed to have such good friends and we had a fun weekend. Thanks Irene and Luke!

Happy 4th of July!

We have an announcement to make... we are the proud owners of a Dodge Charger as of today!!! Most of you know Trey has been searching for a new car for months (well we'll be honest - for years) and he finally found a four-door car he likes which is huge because he is, and always will be, a two-door car kinda guy. :) It is funny because I love SUV's and he loves really tiny sporty cars. So, he has been eyeing the Charger for a while and researching it for a few months. We test drove one a while back but were not quite ready to buy one yet. So today we went to Landers and saw the 2009 Chargers they had on the lot. They were nice and pretty, but not the colors Trey wanted and for the price it was a basic car - nothing extra - no bells and whistles. Which that would have been just fine, but then the salesman said he got a 2008 Charger in yesterday that did not have very many miles on it at all and was silver and a great deal.

Sure enough - we took that car for a test drive and it is now sitting in our driveway! Trey loved it - it is silver with black interior. It has tinted windows, satellite radio, a larger engine and a few extras for a great price compared to the other brand new cars. It was perfect - and it had his name all over it! We signed some paperwork and away we went...

The sad news is that we traded in my beloved Xterra that I have had since my senior year of high school. My 2000 Nissan has been the best car to me and I love it so much. I knew it was time to let it go - but it was harder than I thought. I have so many memories with that car and it has been so good to me. So, I said my goodbyes and took a few pics and off we went.

Bless its little engine...

Trey in his new car

Nice and shiny!

Proud new owner of a Charger.
We are starting off the 4th of July weekend with a bang - (no fireworks necessary!) We plan to organize, clean, and do stuff around the house the rest of the weekend. Have a happy and safe 4th of July!!

Happy 2 Year Anniversary to Us!

Yesterday, June 30th, was our 2 Year Wedding Anniversary! We cannot believe how fast time flies by - it is kind of scary how quickly years come and go when you start getting older. We are also getting closer and closer to the big 30! Shhhhh - keep that hush hush ;)

I do apologize for this picture-less post - but I just had to share our little story last night...

We had a pretty un-eventful day - both of us working - but we decided to go to Colonial, one of our favorite steakhouses in Pine Bluff, AR. It is simply amazing! We got there around 6:30 pm and we walked in the door and it was pitch black. We looked around and finally saw the owner walking our way. He apologized and promised he paid his electric bill this month (he is such a jokester! haha) and said he would be happy to sit us, and that they were promised the electricity would be back on in 10-15 minutes. We, of course, sat down because it is a 45 minute drive to PB and also, we cannot pass up a chance to have one of our favorite meals just because of a minor issue. :)

So, we sat down and there were only two other couples in the restaurant. We had 3 candles on our table and the back and front doors were opened to create a nice breeze. It was actually cool because of the rain so thank goodness for that - because it is summer and we are in Arkansas!
You know, we actually had a lovely time - it was very romantic because of the dark room with the candles as the only light. It was quiet - no noise from the air conditioning, and people kept their conversations to a low whisper and all we could hear was the rain drops bouncing off the concrete outside. It was peaceful, relaxing, and an escape from the daily noise that surrounds all of us whether it be at work, at home, or just background noise. We enjoyed our salads, steaks and baked potatoes (thank God for gas cooking!) with peaceful surroundings. Also, I might add that Colonial Restaurant is inside of an old school house and we imagined what it would have been like a long time ago when there was not air conditioning and all the noises that we hear now.

I don't know why that happened - and I typically do not believe in coincidences. Nevertheless, it was a great night and we enjoyed it so much!

We got home and went through all of our Wedding cards, programs, invitations, and all the items I saved that had to do with our engagement and wedding. We even read through my journal I have starting from the day we started "going out". It was hilarious and we laughed so hard reading my journal entries. We are so blessed to have found each other and we feel lucky that God brought us together for us to share our lives with one another.

2 fabulous years down... and many many more to go! :)

Hot Springs Getaway Weekend!

I cannot believe it is already 2 years since Trey and I tied the knot! June 30th will be our official 2 year anniversary - but we decided to getaway to Hot Springs this weekend and celebrate at our FAVORITE place - Tinkerbell's Wildwood 1884 Bed and Breakfast! Let me start off by saying this is one of the most fabulous places EVER and we have been staying here since we discovered it about 5 years ago. We were in college and the owners: Rebecca and David Hall are such great, down to earth people and we adore them so much. Rebecca and David make everyone feel right at home in their B&B and treat you with the best service you can expect. They always have a big smile and a hug for us when we arrive, and we are greeted with the smell of fresh baked brownies and cookies. They also have a variety of soft drinks and snacks waiting on guests as they arrive. We have stayed in almost all of the rooms in the house - and this time we stayed in the Blue Parlor room which we love.

They always have mints and rose petals on the beds as you enter the room - and lighted candles with background music. Ahhhhh so romantic :) We have become friends with the owners and we chat and catch up while we get settled in. Last year, we even met them for dinner and got to know them a little more which was nice. They truly are a wonderful couple and are such a
pleasure to be around. Okay - I am getting carried away, but seriously, we always have the BEST time!
For dinner, we went to one of the local favorites: Rolando's which is a Cuban/Mexican restaurant with the best Guacamole and Margaritas! It is located on the one and only Hot Springs strip and it is always yummy.

Great presentation too!

On Saturday, we get up and breakfast is served at 9 am. We had a great group of guests at the table which was nice, you never know what kind of people you will meet in the morning! Luckily, everyone got along great and we enjoyed each other's company. I failed to take a pic of the breakfast on Sat. but this is another reason we come to Wildwood. Rebecca cooks a 3-4 course breakfast every morning and she is one of the best cooks. A typical breakfast is a muffin or sweet bread, fruit cup, a heavy croissant with ham, egg, cheese, finished with blueberry pancakes! Trust me - you won't wanna eat for hours... we typically skip lunch altogether!
We went to a few shops and walked around the strip after breakfast but it was miserably hot outside. What is going on Weather Gods? We need to have a serious chat... But we did find some good stuff and we went back to our room to cool off and watch some In Treatment which is a series on HBO that we got into during our honeymoon to Antigua. It is highly addicting and a very cool show - really different, but good. we definitely recommend it!

We stopped to get an ice cream cone later as a little snack - YUMMY!

We had reservations at a fabulous Italian Restaurant on Lake Hamilton called J and S Italian Restaurant which we have been to a couple of times. (If you get a chance to go, try the Chicken Verona... very rich, but it is to die for) Really, everything is great on their menu - I had an eggplant appetizer which was phenomenal and Trey liked his shrimp starter too. We were STUFFED beyond belief but still managed to eat a delish cannoli for dessert :)

Sunday morning we ate another yummy breakfast - this time I had my camera!
Can you believe this is ALL breakfast!!!
Trey and I hung out for a while and played a game of checkers because he said he had a surprise for me...

Here are the pics of the B&B... isn't is super cute? Also, the main reason I wanted to go in the first place was that it was PINK and it turned out to be one of our favorite places :)

Our Blue Parlor Room

The stairs and a stained glass window that is original to the house...

A neat old timey wheel chair...

There is SO much history in this house and the owners give a great tour

And the surprise was.......
A Couple's Spa Day!!! How sweet was that? He arranged for us to have massages, facials, foot wraps and a body scrub/wrap! Ahhhhh it was heavenly and much needed :) The place was called Sabai and the two masseuses did a great job - one of the best we have had.

We had a great weekend together and we got home to two very excited pups that were happy to see us and to be home. :)
