First Birthday Party!!!

Logan had a fantastic first birthday party on Saturday! He is one blessed little boy :) We kept it very small and intimate just the way we like it! I was pretty relaxed and didn't stress so that was very nice. His party was from 1-3 pm and it went perfectly! We had a few hiccups but it all ended up going so well and just the way it should have. Logan didn't have a great first nap - but he was a trooper and lasted through the party - luckily he was in a good mood!

Smash cake from Mickeys - yum!

Birthday boy seeing the crown on his highchair - and the fun balloons!

He and Austin playing nicely together - best buds!

Logan's other best friend, precious Cole! He is such a happy baby!!

We almost thought Grammy wouldn't be able to be at the party but we were SO glad she was able to make it - especially to see the cake eating!!

Gi Gi, Logan, and Daddy

Love that birthday boy!

I cannot believe how big these babies are! Stop it - seriously. Time needs to S L O W down before I have a meltdown! Sometimes I still can't believe we are all moms - eek! :)

Logan getting ready to sample his cake - this was his very first time to have anything sweet.

Um....what is this mom?

A little taste on the tongue...

This isn't so bad...

Yum! This icing is awesome!

With every bite he got more and more into it. It took him a while of staring and lightly touching and pinching the icing. But finally he got a little in his mouth then took a few more licks. Then he was hooked! He took bigger licks and started digging, ever so carefully, into the cake.

Daddy's so funny!

Frosting face :) Trey gave him a little piece of actual cake to try and he liked that too.
He licked and tasted until we took it away - He didn't cry when I took the cake away and we cleaned him up then sent him on his way to play with toys again and start opening presents. He was funny - very interested in the birthday cards over the toys. We opened all the toys later and he loved each of them - yay!
We also let him try a little more cake for dessert after dinner and he really didn't want anything to do with it. He mushed it all around his tray and didn't want to taste it. So funny :)

Dear friends of 20+ years! Somerset is pregnant with her first and we find out the sex in a few weeks - yay!!

Lauren, Austin, and John

I didn't get a family pic of Luke, Irene, and Cole - but we appreciate them for coming from fayetteville! Thank you everyone for coming to help celebrate Logan turning ONE! It was so special to have each of you here and we are so thankful for your love and support over the last year. Blessed beyond belief!

Now, I gotta get to Wednesday, Logan's actual birthday. I kept telling myself he wasn't even here this time last year - I was still very pregnant waiting on his due date - oh my! Can't wait to celebrate his birth on Wednesday - yay!

Playdates, Spaghettios, and Swimming!

Logan has been trying out his new push toy/walker that I found for a whopping $5 at a garage sale! I am still pumped at how much I saved with each item!!
He does get very frustrated when he runs it into a wall or something - I help him move it so he can keep walking but he quickly gets upset when it stops at the next obstacle. Poor guy - he wants to go go go!

We had playdate at The Wonder Place this week and it was a blast!

Logan tried Spaghettios for the first time - I looked in the Gerber section for older food and found some mac n cheese veggies, spaghettios, and chicken and veggies. He thought they were yummy!

But he is almost over the pureed baby food - he wants to feed himself and he wants real food I guess. He cries/fusses when his cheese toast runs out or puffs are all gone when I start feeding the main course. I cant believe it - he is getting so big!
Daddy and Logan being silly :)

In the car before his FIRST swim lesson! He was FUSSY that morning - I barely made it out the door without us both in tears. He was not letting me change his diaper into a swim diaper and put his swim shorts on he threw a toy off the changing table and knocked his video monitor off the wall! Can we say Temper?

But we made it there and got into the water - he did great for 15-20 minutes! I was sooo happy because he hates bathtime - it gets worse and worse. He doesn't want to play he basically just stands wanting to get out and I wash him off quickly then he freaks out when the water is poured over his head to wash out the shampoo. I am hoping swimming lessons will help him get used to water and like bathtime more. I think he didn't know what to think at lessons - but I did get a smile! We introduced them to the water and practiced entering and sang songs and splashed in the water. He started crying/getting fussy when we tried to float them on their chests and he was not a fan - but he lasted much longer than I thought! hooray!

yay for the first swim lesson!

Later in the week we went to Lauren and Austin's for a playdate - the boys had so much fun crawling around everywhere it was so funny to watch. I can't believe they are both this big - they were all over the place and we were busy chasing them while trying to catch up :)

This is pretty much what the playdate consisted of - them gonig in different directions with toys - haha

At the end they finally were interested in Austins walker - it was so cute!

No hands! Yay Austin!

We are getting ready for Logans birthday party tomorrow - cleaning and picking up the cake today - we are having a very low key and intimate first bday with family and close friends. We are excited to celebrate our baby boy graduating into toddler hood - pics to come!

Lately...

Logan got his first birthday present from his sweet cousins Aren, Eva, and Ryan! He opened it and found more books to complete his set! Also he got a cute froggy learning/talking toy - he loves it!

He already loves to read - he goes to pull out his books a few times a day and loves to look at the pages and have us read to him.
getting taller and stronger...

speed crawling to mommy!

This is what our living room looks like most days - he has his area then Soph is gated off into her area which is also the nice side to the living room aka the dangerous side due to the fireplace hearth, glass table, and tons of electronics. Eek!

He is learning all about his ball machine - realizing the balls come out of the top and he can try to catch them and then sometimes he will put some back.

This cracks me up - he rarely wants to sit inside his jumper, because he would rather be on the move - but he loves to stand up and walk around it to play with the toys - totally different angle I guess. But when I try to put him inside he screams and cries - haha go figure

So.... I went garage selling for the first time today! It was AMAZING - thanks to one of the fabulous ladies at playgroup for introducing me to the wonderful world of cheap toys!! So I took 20 bucks and didn't even spend it all! I found this great push toy - I have been looking for one but they are expensive - so this was a whooping $5!!
I also found a huge set of legos for $2, A puzzle set for $1, a nice baby gate for $1 and this wonderful big boy toy for only $7.00!!!!!
look how cute this is???? Its for when he is older - probably 2-3 and beyond but for 7 bucks I couldn't pass it up since they retail for over $200! It is in great condition and has double the play nails/tools because they included extra from another one they had. Score! We will slap a bow on it for a Christmas or birthday present and he will be in heaven - yay! All that savings - I was on a shopping high all morning, so exciting!

Logan gets excited about mealtime usually - here he is just laughing away...

I just love this sweet boy more every day - is that even possible? He is pure joy and I soak it up all day long.

He isn't feeling well - has a bug I think. He has been calmer today and sort of fussy too. He has bathroom issues as well - bless his heart.

Four bottom toothies!

What did I tell ya? The boy loves book time!!!

So recently for records sake I want to note that we will start swim lessons on Wednesday - looking forward to it but hoping it goes good. Lauren is teaching a very small group so that will be awesome but Logan does not love the water - hates bathtime - so hopefully he can get over his fears soon or at least learn to like or tolerate the water :)
Also, we had a scary incident the other day I looked away for a second while putting his cheese toast in the toaster and I see him over near sophies food bowl. He pushed past the gate and went straight for her food. She eats tiny pieces but bigger than a pea. I scooped a piece out then realized there were more in there. He had 6 pieces in his mouth!! I about freaked out - I calmly scooped them all out and then he tried to put 5 more pieces in his mouth from his hand - geesh! I pried all of those out of his fingers and he cried. And I cried because it could have been so much worse. First of MANY scary mommy moments to come - we survived!! And poor soph was staring at him like "what are you doing - thats my food!"
Getting gas is easier now that some gas stations have those tvs built into the pump - he watches tv, with the windows rolled down during this heat, and loves it. It is funny to watch him - Its mainly commercials trying to sell things - but hey, whatever works while mama pumps gas.
I am getting ready for this first bday party next week I can't believe it - I am entering denial right about now. I keep thinking this time last year I was still very pregnant - he wasn't even here yet! More posts/pics to come this week - promise :)
