Mini Texas Vacay

Trey and I took a little mini vacation to Texas last week and saw family and friends. We started Wednesday, and drove to San Antonio where my Dad is working. We took off and stopped at Whataburger in Texarkana which was super good and also the place where my family and I used to stop at every time we traveled to Texas. Yum!

We got in late and grabbed a bite at one of our favorite fast food Mexican places: Taco Cabana!

The next day in SA we went shopping and out to lunch with Welita (She is like a grandmother to Trey) and we ate at a Mexican restaurant - it was SO GOOD! Then we drove around a little bit and since it was so hot we decided to see a movie. We wanted to see The Hangover - and yes it looks stupid and cheesy but it was actually hilarious (if you like that humor - which we do... haha) The theater was super nice - it had a bar upstairs, gelato and Starbucks downstairs! Can't get any better than that! The cool air conditioning was icing on the cake :)

One of the shops we went into was the Puma store - and for anyone who knows Trey knows he is obsessed with Puma shoes and he loves shopping for them, especially when they are on SALE. Here is Trey expressing his deep emotion to the Size 11 Chocolate Puma's.

We drove to Austin on Friday to spend time with Trey's family. Vivian flew from LR to Austin to stay with his sister, Michelle, and her husband, Richard, and their three children: Aren, Eva, and Ryan. Oh, and cute little four legged Teddy - their newest addition. We rented a boat on Saturday and set out for some fun in the sun. Claudia, Trey's other sister, and her kids Alex and Stephen met us on the boat too. We had a blast and it was fun to watch the kids play in the water! I did get some good pics - but forgot to get a family pic (what was I thinking! )

We had a great day hanging out and enjoying each other and the weather. We went to eat together that night at Pappadeaux seafood restaurant - more good food and conversation!

On Sunday, we got up and drove to Marble Falls, TX. and ate at the Blue Bonnet Cafe which is famous for their pies and Pie Happy Hour. It was well worth the wait and so good - the pies were amazing!!

We drove to Dallas after our pies to spend time with Amber and Andrew (and baby Aubrey) and it was Amber's birthday too so we celebrated with them at their house with some of their friends. Aubrey is getting so big - she will be one in September! Hard to believe!

Happy Birthday Amber!

Monday - we drove back to LR and made it home safely...

Here is what greeted us as we got to my moms house to pick up our pooches.... Happy Faces!

Back home - back to reality - and back to work. Can I have a vacation week once a month??? ;)
