I thought I would have all my days figured out once I stayed at home. Cleaning would get done from a weekly list I strategically planned out and I would just check off items on my list of To Do's. By 3 pm I would be free to sit and catch up on a little DVR show or two while Logan naps.
HA! What fantasy world was I living in? Reality set in about 3 weeks after I quit my job and now I know how little time I really have each day to make check marks on that never ending To Do list. Ahem. I was wrong, oh so wrong.
So, here is a day in the life of Logan (and this mommy). Just trying to get it all done while it seems Nothing gets done. Since this is my record keeping blog as well, I want to remember what a typical day is like with a almost 6 month old. (Gulp. I know I know. Half a year just doesn't seem real...)
First things first...
How VERY appropriate huh? Coffee first my dears. Always.
Then Daddy gets home from work - yay! They get a little one on one time usually while I pump and or make a bottle.
Mmmmm - breakfast for Logan
Then its Playtime! He is busy in the jumper while I start unloading the dishwasher

Jealous aren't you? Who wouldn't want to unload and reload first thing in the AM? :)
I felt I needed to include Miss Soph. She always reminds me for her morning treat.
Then she promptly goes back to bed. For pretty much the rest of the day - What a hard life!
So, back to little man. He plays and plays for about 30-45 minutes either all in his jumper or a mixture of jumper and playmat time.
Then, a little bumbo time for 5 minutes
Chew on a teether, then he decided he had enough. Plus it was nap time - 9 am on the dot!
Poor guy hadn't pooped in almost 2 days. He was not happy when I put him down which usually is not the case. He hardly ever cries for naptime and he usually smiles and plays in his crib until he falls asleep. Not today. he screamed. yes SCREAMED for 40 minutes. Oh my.
And Sophie continues to be cozy in her warm bed. You can barely see her little face poking out
He woke up with only 20 minutes of a nap. Playtime again
Then we ate a big bottle then baby Einstein time.
Lazy Chihuahua :)
I folded towels while Logan watched his dvd.
Thew another burp cloth in his laundry - he spit up so much today, I think because he hasn't pooped and he seems to be pushing every chance he gets which means pushing food back up. This is rare - but I changed my shirt 4 times.
After the dvd we went to his bedroom to use this fun instrument.
This is what Logan thought...
Yeah. Me too little guy, me too.
Second nap - about 2 hours after the first one around 12:30
He woke up and this is how I found him - sad again :(
No poop yet. He grunted and grunted and pushed and pushed. poor baby -it doesn't happen often, but when it does you always feel bad for them.
Playtime on the floor - one of his favorites!
My last resort after using the thermometer 3 different times starting last night. The doctor said to give him pear juice in a bottle and it should help make him go. Well, he HATED it. I think because he has only had milk in a bottle. I should have just syringed it like the gripe water and gas drops, etc. He probably would have taken it, but I tried after he had it in the bottle and he hated it still. Spit it back up and made these funny faces.
Playtime in the door jumper - loving it!
Mom washes bottles and pumping gear
Logan is obsessed with the tv remote - he loves to grab it when I am watching tv while he is eating.
Swing time - he still LOVES the swing thank goodness. He was so very fussy today that this is one of the only things that calms him. Just swinging away...
And he fell asleep in the swing...
After the quick nap he ate again and we went to change him in the bedroom. Tummy time!
Practicing on rolling over
YAY he did it!!!!!!!!!
5 pm came along and it was bathtime - Daddy got up to help and Logan splashed in the bath for 15 minutes.
Daddy always does drying off and lotion time after bath.
Jumper time again while Dad cooked dinner and I ran to walgreens for Milk of magnesia.
Watching baby Einstein right before bedtime. I came back home and got a whiff when I walked into the living room - POOPY!!!
Hooray!! He pooped on his own - maybe with some help of the pear juice, but nevertheless. This mama can sleep sound tonight. Isn't it so crazy what we worry about? Burping, pooping, boogers, spit up, etc. WOW!

I got some in him but not much. Next stop is Walgreens for Milk of Magnesia. Last resort.

Then, 7 pm rolled around and we changed for bedtime and we always read Goodnight Moon before we put him in the crib. He loves it. I have been reading this book since he was a newborn and he just smiles and listens to the whole story every night. Soo precious.
After I read the book, we say goodnight to the lamp in the room, turn on his moniter and start his wave machine. I sing twinkle twinkle little star while I hold him, then place him in the crib and sing it again as I rub his belly. Kisses goodnight and I close the door. He usually plays for a little while then off to bed he goes.
Trey made this yummy spicy tomato soup tonight with grilled cheese sandwiches! sooo yummy in this freezing weather :)

So, that was my full day, and I am exhausted and gonna get some sleep so I can do it all over again tomorrow. Sweet dreams bloggie friends :)
