One Little Toothy...

Do you see anything? (its okay, probably not) but that doesn't mean there isn't a toothy hiding in there!!! Yep - Logan's FIRST TOOTH poked through today! The front, bottom left. I almost can't believe it - it really means he is growing and getting... gasp... older.
He was fussy today and had his hands all in his mouth more than usual - he also woke up at 2 am last night crying and rubbing his gums which now I know was the tooth trying to pop out. We broke out the baby Advil to soothe that pain - bless his heart.

My sweet little Valentine :)

He is also doing a super good job at sitting up on his own! This is a new trick - over the last week.

Yes, the TV is on and yes he is catching a glimpse of his girlfriend. She's pretty famous, maybe you've heard of her? Her name is Dora.

This boy is OBSESSED with Dora - he can't get enough. I think I have mentioned this before but anytime she is on tv and we pass the channel he watches her intently and usually giggles and gets excited. Oh dear. Young Love.

We have exciting food news! He at and LIKED bananas and squash today! HOORAY!! So, other than cereal and avocados (which he hasn't been to fond of the last 2 days) we can add two more items to the list of likes. Whew - momma was getting worried ;)

next up: pureed zucchini

It was too funny this afternoon - Logan was in his door jumper watching Sophie like he always does and I started throwing her toy for her to catch. He thought it was hilarious - he would cackle and giggle while she went to retrieve it. It is so cute what he thinks is funny

Man, we had a BIG day today - lots of firsts! He also tried this food ring - you stick frozen or cut up food inside and close it shut. They can suck out and swallow the food without a chocking hazard since it is a mesh baggie.

I put a frozen banana inside and he went to town! I think mainly because his teeth are hurting and it felt good...but still. He sucked out almost the entire banana slice.

I cooked dinner tonight and it turned out pretty yummy and was super easy to make.

Here is the recipe from Cooking Light. (if you click on the pics they will enlarge so you can hopefully read the recipe if you want to try it out)

Very different and pretty good. Trey roasted broccoli and it was delish! Whew - I am exhausted from our busy day - off to bed I go!

Introducing: The Wonder Place!

Logan got to play at The Wonder Place (http://www.thewonderplace.com/) for the first time today and he LOVED it! This is such an amazing place for children - and I am proud to say I was their head manager for almost 2 years before I started at the hotel. I always couldn't wait to bring my own baby there someday because of how neat it is and that day is here! Amber and Aubrey were in town so we decided to meet them there.

They have a 2 and under area and Logan loved laying on the mats and staring out the window -
Then he decided to play with some toys

He had a ball!

Look who is sitting up on their own with a little help from the hole in the mat? He is getting so much better at holding his body up with his arms - big boy!

And then we discovered the super fun water table!! Logan's Favorite place so far! he watched older boys playing in the bigger water table, but then splish splashed in his own little water with some toys

loving on this turtle

It was so fun - he lasted almost 2 hours - a good hour and half before he got hungry. We ate then left since Aubrey had been playing for over 3 hours - she and Amber were worn out :)

I call this a horrible case of Mommy Brain - yes. I admit it. I steamed this spoon in the microwave along with bottles, pump accessories, etc. When I showed it to Trey and asked him why on earth it melted he pointed to the stem which is metal.

Ahem. That is all I will say on the matter... it won't happen again ;)

We tried Banana's yesterday morning!

He liked them a lot at first,

But then, decided he might want to slow things down - yep. He ate a few spoon fulls then started spitting it back out.

We also tried peas the day before.

Not too crazy about them peas are we?

Giving them another try -

Yep. Ick.

Well. So far he likes rice cereal and avocados. Lovely. We will keep at it - sooner or later he will like something else - or develop a like for another food. I snuck pureed apples into his rice cereal this morning and he ate a little. But then wouldn't have it - he made these faces like "mom you tricked me!" Smart little boy :)

Loving jumper time!

Can I stay in here all day? Pretty please?

Relaxing weekend with a side of DRAMA!

A little love is in the air!

I just LOVE holidays - (no surprise here) so I was so excited when I thought to have a Vday tree! I already had a pink tree and just bought ornaments from hobby lobby. I also had left over
garland from Christmas so I made a Valentines garland and put the rest of the ornaments and a few hearts in the mix.

Onto our weekend...
We went to fayetteville to visit Irene and Luke before Baby Cole arrives in a couple of weeks! We were so excited to have a night away from the baby and to spend some time with our dear friends. We drove up later Sat afternoon and made it there by dinner. We ate at Red Robin (never been there before and it was tasty!) After dinner the boys went out since this will be one of the last times Luke can have a guys night for a while and Irene and I stayed in and talked about the nursery, organization of said nursery, and all things BABY! Shocking, I know :) It is so funny the differences in men and women. ha!

We stayed up until 1 am which is almost unheard of at the Gould household these days. But I didn't have to get up with a baby so it was alright - the guys made it home a little later and we were fast asleep when our cell phones rang. I finally woke up enough to answer and it was our alarm system saying there was a glass shatter in the kitchen! WHAT?!! To make matters worse our poor Sophie was staying at the house by herself! I freaked out and asked them to send a police officer over to check the house out. Sometimes if it thunders it will set off the alarm or if a loud noise happens - but its rare. The lady suggested that our dog probably jumped on the glass and I kindly told her a 5 pound Chihuahua definitely couldn't make the alarm go off!

So, that pretty much ruined any sleep we WOULD have had. The police officer told our alarm company that he didn't see anything - no broken glass thank goodness. But I was still very worried about Soph. My MIL was coming to check on her and spent time with her Sat evening, but this was at 4-5 am - just strange.

So - we talked to Vivian later that morning and she was sweet to come over to the house to check on everything and Sophie - all was fine which made us feel so much better. But you just feel so helpless when you are out of town and you get a phone call like that. Ugh. So - needless to say instead of gaining extra sleep we lost TONS on our overnight trip. Oh well - there will be other times. I am just so very thankful everything was okay and no one tried to break in - the dog is fine, and that is really all that matters. :)

Look at the glowing Mama-to-be! Precious!

I wished we lived closer - miss her already!!!

And for your Logan fill - here are some recent pics - YES - that is a wubbie, we all know he hates pacis or soothies anything like that. But he is now chewing on them I think because his gums are sore from teething. At least he can use it now!

Playing hard in his jumper - talking to his flower

Hugging Morty the Moose

The past couple of days Logan has perfected rolling over from back to stomach - only in his crib. He constantly does this new trick before nap time and bed time. I had to turn him over 5 times this morning for his nap! Once he gets there - he plays for a second then realizes he can't turn back over and cries. I usually give him a little bit to see if he will figure it out - but he hasn't yet. The crying just escalates.

Hopefully this will be a low key week - I need to really do some cleaning and organizing in our guest bedroom and tear down boxes in the garage. Fun times - I know you are jealous :)
