American Idol Here I come!

Well, maybe not AI material, but Logan sure thinks I have a good voice :) Yesterday we were running errands and he started getting very fussy - crying and whining. I always drive while playing music in the car - anything from Lady GaGa, Rap, to Taylor Swift. He is gonna be one well rounded kiddo! haha
Anyway, I turned off the music and started sweetly singing Itsy Bitsy Spider and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star over and over again getting softer and softer. He loves these songs at the house so I thought I'd give it a try. Well, it worked! He passed out COLD! (uh huh, I know what you're thinking - he passed out so he wouldn't have to listen to mama's voice anymore... don't hate) ;)
Love these sweet moments with my baby boy.

Look at big and strong he is getting! And Blonde!!

I heart swaddling. Whoever came up with that magical idea deserves a medal. Seriously. Logan is still sleeping 8-11 hours a night being swaddled!!! Can I get an AMEN! :) Oh, and there is this new swaddle miracle called the Swaddle Pod - it is a zipper sack! I am trying it out tonight - we'll see if he likes it as much as the wrap around Velcro swaddle blanket.

Logan watching his Sing Along Tunes - he loves this little toy

Another neat thing we are doing now that he is 3 months old is watching Baby Einstein Dvds. I bought a whole 24 set on eBay for $14.00! Can you believe it? Such a steal :) I put him in his nap nanny in front of the tv and play a different dvd each day. He LOVES tv (definitely his daddy's child) and he typically watches the whole video - they are usually 20-30 minutes. Whoa - I am surprised his attention span allows that. But he smiles and giggles along with the video.

Here he is - of course Soph is sitting right next to him just dying to lick him to death. I really have to watch her - I don't think he likes her very much right now. He fusses when she is near him. Probably because she licks his toes!

Just some random happies for 3 months and other things to remember:
I love this age - he is so sweet and happy. His smiles melt my heart and his giggles are pure bliss. His favorite things are his Flower that plays music, Sing Along Tunes, Playmat, Tummy Time, DVD Time, and changing his diaper. Who would have thought that would be a fun time? He used to scream the entire diaper change - but now he smiles and talks to me!

He is noticing his hands and feet. He stares at them in the car seat when we are going somewhere. He still doesn't love Gus his Wubbanub soothie. Hoping he will someday. He just can't seem to get the concept of keeping him in his mouth.

Logan LOVES to eat. He is eating 4-6 ounces at a time depending on the time of day. He usually eats more in the afternoon and evening before bed. Pumping is still going very well - I am now pumping every 5 hours and storing that in the fridge or deep freezer. I can go 6-7 hours at night before I pump again. (more sleep for mommy!)

He has been going down around 10 pm the past week and gets up in between 7-9 am. He is sleeping in the pack and play bassinet swaddled and seems to be doing great in there. We still have the humidifier going every night since he has congestion. He has since he came home from the hospital and his Ped said he has small nasal passages. Don't know what we would do without that humidifier.

I go back to work Monday. WHOMP WHOMP. Ugh I am not looking forward to it. I think I am in denial of what the days will be like working, then coming home and getting just a few hours with Logan before he goes to bed. I am trying to have a positive outlook but its hard. I just can't believe the 3 months have already flown by - wow.

Happy Weekend - Enjoy this FALL weather!!!

Mesmerized

Look who finally found the ceiling fan?

Whoa mom - this is WAY cool!

He did this for 5-10 minutes - I turned the fan light on and off and he loved that too - who needs toys when you have these awesome built-in things around the house? :)

Logan playing on his new playmat - when he kicks where the flowers are (by his feet) they set of music and lights for a cause and effect. he loves it!

I had to include this video - he is too funny. He really loves his giraffe on one of his playmats. He talks specifically to his giraffe that plays "twinkle little star". He talks to him like this and doesn't talk to any other toy the way he does his giraffe. Too cute and quite funny :)

We have been playing hard - and sleeping even harder! I hate to even say it, but he has slept 8-10 hours every night, without waking up, for the past week and a half! This makes me VERY excited since we all know the hardest thing, for me, about having a baby has been my lack of sleep. I take sleep very seriously - and apparently Logan does too! Yay! :)

First Road Trip!

Let me start off my announcing that Logan slept, swaddled, for 11 hours last night!!! Can you believe it?? I can't - I am still in shock! Trey and I were both up before him - ohmygosh!

I know it is probably due to the fact that he was EXHAUSTED from his first road trip to Dallas to meet Great GrandMary and a few other family members. It was a super quick trip but well worth it! Mom and I left Friday and returned Sunday. He did wonderful - such a good little traveler. He was pleasant in the car on the way up and back. He did great at the restaurants when we ate out and he was sweet at GrandMary's house too! He had a couple of fussy moments, but they were short and went away as soon as he saw his bottle. :)

Finally at GrandMary's! Glad to be here!

Sweet boy - love that face

He also slept like a champ both nights right next to me. He was swaddled and I put the sleep positioner so he wouldn't roll anywhere. he did great on his back which I wasn't sure about. He has never slept flat before - he is always on the nap nappy or in the bassinet which is on a slight incline. he stayed asleep for around 8 hours each night! Whew - it made me feel better about the crib (though I am no where NEAR ready for that yet) but maybe he will sleep fine in it on his back once its time :)

Morning Smiles - precious

Loving Aunt Barbara

Out cold - he played so much he was so tired!

Logan with his Grammy

Meeting Cousin Ashley and Cousin Ava for the first time

Great GrandMary - so sweet

Pretty boy - loves his playmat!

Talking to his toys

He is very fond of his burp cloths (gotta remember to introduce lovies now) and likes to hold them and put them up to his mouth

Here begins the burp cloth hide and seek game. I was in the backseat with Logan for the last 3 hours to Dallas and he played his game of covering his face with the cloth - then taking it down and smiling at me. Too cute!

So, we did have our first screaming incident at a restaurant. Honestly, I am glad its over. I knew it was coming - the first time (of course there will be many many more, but at least the 1st one is passed us). We went to Fulins to grab some chinese before I left on the trip and as soon as Trey and I sat down Logan started crying so I got him out of the car seat and tried to give him a bottle. He was NOT having it which is strange. He started screaming and Trey rushed him outside. Embarrassing! I ate my soup and eggroll alone (awkward) and finally they came back inside and sat down. He seemed fine and took a little bit of the bottle - but all of a sudden the stink face came back with a loud shriek followed by shrill screams. Who is this child? Not mine! Totally not like him at all - I practically shouted at our waitress to box our food to-go and I took Logan and ran outside to get him out of the restaurant and away from the glaring customers. As soon as we got outside he was fine - staring all around at the buildings and people coming and going. Trey paid and we were outta there. Once we got home we figured out he had bad gas pain - he has never acted like that before poor thing. We gave him 2 rounds of gas drops and finally it eased the pain and he passed out asleep. Bless his heart - we felt so bad for him :(

He does this with every feeding - holds his little hands together, so sweet

We had lots of fun in Dallas - it was a short trip and I missed seeing dear friends. We will definitely be back soon and I can catch up with Amber and John! :)
Oh, by the way, as I type he is swaddled and fast asleep, and mamma is very happy! :)

A Little Something for All You Hog Fans...

Ohhhhh yes - you are seeing correctly. No need to readjust your eyes. Logan is wearing a Razorback onesie (courtesy of Aunt Somerset, of course) and holding a stuffed Razorback (gift from Aunt Irene) Everyone knows Trey and I aren't Hog fans. We aren't fans of ANY sports team - yep you heard it right. I didn't buy any football, basketball, baseball, hockey, rugby, dodge ball, (you get the picture) outfits since I'm not into sports. Why would I put my child in a "Daddys Little Slugger" or "Mommys Future Quarterback" outfit when I don't even know what those terms mean and could care less about it ;) (I tried to read Sports for Dummies once upon a time but quickly put it down - ick boring!)

So, of course our dear friends had to make sure Logan had at least 1 Razorback outfit so we wouldn't be stoned to death. (Lets be honest, if anyone knew we were living in Arkansas and didn't own a single Baby Razorback item there would be hell to pay. Stoning, burning of property, death threats, etc. SuperFans take these things very seriously and we must be prepared.

Apparently game day is most Saturdays - so I figured I would dress him up in his onesie and let him meet Artie, his Razorback, so I would have proof I actually did dress him up. Besides, someday if he chooses to be an Arkansas Razorback fan - he will have these photos to look back on and will be appreciative we let him show his support as an infant (even if Mommy and Daddy don't participate) ;)

Artie and Logan - BFF's already...

Just a typical day - playing in his bouncy seat while we eat dinner

He has just discovered that if he kicks his legs hard enough - it will bounce the seat which shakes his toys hanging above - smart kid!

Look at this sweet face! He is in an outfit that Deb and Diane bought for him - "Guess How Much I Love You" outfit and hat - to match his book. We love it!

Tummy time - getting stronger every day!

We had an amazing night this past Saturday. Logan spent the night with Grammy and Granddad and gave mom and dad the night off. Trey and I had our first overnight away and we used our gift certificate to the Embassy which is very close to our house. We checked in - and walked across the street to Kobe Steakhouse and had delicious drinks at the bar before our YUMMY dinner! We had the best time - just relaxing and enjoying each other without little man. We laughed and giggled through dinner. It was hilarious - we sat at a table with 2 other couples who were in highschool or first year of college and they kept staring at us because we were just loving our time together - feeling giddy like tweens and loving being completely alone - sipping drinks and taking our time with our food. Plus lots of good conversation! I have missed talking to Trey - about anything and everything. With a newborn you don't get much time to chat and catch up on random things so we did just that!
It was honestly amazing and such a refreshing evening away. We also got TONS of uninterrupted sleep which was heavenly! Ahhhhh! :) We ate a quick brunch at Copelands before picking Logan up on Sunday. Even though it was only 1 night away - it felt like an entire weekend. Thanks G-parents!! :)
