Hot Springs Getaway Weekend!

I cannot believe it is already 2 years since Trey and I tied the knot! June 30th will be our official 2 year anniversary - but we decided to getaway to Hot Springs this weekend and celebrate at our FAVORITE place - Tinkerbell's Wildwood 1884 Bed and Breakfast! Let me start off by saying this is one of the most fabulous places EVER and we have been staying here since we discovered it about 5 years ago. We were in college and the owners: Rebecca and David Hall are such great, down to earth people and we adore them so much. Rebecca and David make everyone feel right at home in their B&B and treat you with the best service you can expect. They always have a big smile and a hug for us when we arrive, and we are greeted with the smell of fresh baked brownies and cookies. They also have a variety of soft drinks and snacks waiting on guests as they arrive. We have stayed in almost all of the rooms in the house - and this time we stayed in the Blue Parlor room which we love.

They always have mints and rose petals on the beds as you enter the room - and lighted candles with background music. Ahhhhh so romantic :) We have become friends with the owners and we chat and catch up while we get settled in. Last year, we even met them for dinner and got to know them a little more which was nice. They truly are a wonderful couple and are such a
pleasure to be around. Okay - I am getting carried away, but seriously, we always have the BEST time!
For dinner, we went to one of the local favorites: Rolando's which is a Cuban/Mexican restaurant with the best Guacamole and Margaritas! It is located on the one and only Hot Springs strip and it is always yummy.

Great presentation too!

On Saturday, we get up and breakfast is served at 9 am. We had a great group of guests at the table which was nice, you never know what kind of people you will meet in the morning! Luckily, everyone got along great and we enjoyed each other's company. I failed to take a pic of the breakfast on Sat. but this is another reason we come to Wildwood. Rebecca cooks a 3-4 course breakfast every morning and she is one of the best cooks. A typical breakfast is a muffin or sweet bread, fruit cup, a heavy croissant with ham, egg, cheese, finished with blueberry pancakes! Trust me - you won't wanna eat for hours... we typically skip lunch altogether!
We went to a few shops and walked around the strip after breakfast but it was miserably hot outside. What is going on Weather Gods? We need to have a serious chat... But we did find some good stuff and we went back to our room to cool off and watch some In Treatment which is a series on HBO that we got into during our honeymoon to Antigua. It is highly addicting and a very cool show - really different, but good. we definitely recommend it!

We stopped to get an ice cream cone later as a little snack - YUMMY!

We had reservations at a fabulous Italian Restaurant on Lake Hamilton called J and S Italian Restaurant which we have been to a couple of times. (If you get a chance to go, try the Chicken Verona... very rich, but it is to die for) Really, everything is great on their menu - I had an eggplant appetizer which was phenomenal and Trey liked his shrimp starter too. We were STUFFED beyond belief but still managed to eat a delish cannoli for dessert :)

Sunday morning we ate another yummy breakfast - this time I had my camera!
Can you believe this is ALL breakfast!!!
Trey and I hung out for a while and played a game of checkers because he said he had a surprise for me...

Here are the pics of the B&B... isn't is super cute? Also, the main reason I wanted to go in the first place was that it was PINK and it turned out to be one of our favorite places :)

Our Blue Parlor Room

The stairs and a stained glass window that is original to the house...

A neat old timey wheel chair...

There is SO much history in this house and the owners give a great tour

And the surprise was.......
A Couple's Spa Day!!! How sweet was that? He arranged for us to have massages, facials, foot wraps and a body scrub/wrap! Ahhhhh it was heavenly and much needed :) The place was called Sabai and the two masseuses did a great job - one of the best we have had.

We had a great weekend together and we got home to two very excited pups that were happy to see us and to be home. :)
