He likes it!

Last night I got everything ready for this morning's first feeding. It was so surreal to be pulling out and washing bowls, spoons, and putting together the highchair! I pulled out a bib for the first time too. My baby really is growing isn't he? (tears forming right about now)

Logan did very well - he actually seemed to like the rice cereal! When Trey got home from work this morning he grabbed the video camera and I mixed the cereal with milk and put Logan in his highchair for the FIRST time. He didn't know what to think at first - I think he thought it was a very big bumbo seat with a strap :)

pulling at the straps trying to figure it all out

looking down at the tray

Getting his Game Face on for his first bite.

Here mommy comes with the bowl....almost there...
And here it is!!

Yummy?

I think so - he wants more!

and more...

and more........

dripping down his face - he loving every bite!

He also discovered this magical bib he's been missing out on for all these 6 months.

It was hilarious, he would take a bite then rub his face on the bib. Yes, yes, my child can already wipe his mouth off after every bite. Grammy Teresa will be proud of those manners! ;)

I was prepared for total chaos - food all over him, me, the floor, maybe ever sophie that stood under him the whole time. But nope! Not this first time. Logan decided to ease us into this whole eating process. I shouldn't even say it, but I didn't even have to change his sleeper once he was done! I wasn't kidding when I said he literally wiped off after every bite. Shoot - I jinxed myself didn't I? Next feeding I will be picking food out of my hair :)
Even though Logan is getting bigger and older - I cherish these wonderful firsts with him. I cannot wait to try the carrots, sweet potatoes, and avocados we bought at the store!

Here is a little video clip from this morning - we recorded the whole eating, but it was too big to fit on the blog - so here's a little sample.

Look who's Half a Year Old??

I am in total denial my baby is 6 months old.....

Logan - you must stop growing so quickly!

He figured out that the monthly stickers are attached to his onesie and he started to peel it off! ha! What a big boy!

So, I quickly took it off so he wouldn't tear it up because they are reusable. How cute is this?

Logan, you are more precious to daddy and me than anything else in this world - we are so blessed to have you and are lucky we get to see the little man you will grow into one day - judging by how quickly 6 months flew by I am quite sure I will be typing your "Happy 8th Birthday" very soon! Eeek!
This was my motto today...
I just LOVE snowy days - I live for pretty fluffy white days :) What else is the cold winter good for? (other than Ugg boots and Peppermint Mochas)
Well, it was a cold, drizzly, snowy kinda day. So, what to do with a day like that? Why bake a cake and make frosting from scratch! I had a box mix of yellow cake, but no frosting. So I googled easy recipes with few ingredients and found one that had powered sugar, water, milk, vanilla and coco powder - voila! A little mixing and it turned out great :)

Don't worry, I started my Turbo Jam workout Dvds this week - I need a little exercise since I am slowly turning into Susie Homemaker. Baking all these desserts are seriously not helping those last pounds of baby weight ;)
It started out like this - coming down pretty hard for a little while, but it never reached freezing to make the snow stick.

It stuck to the grass for a little while - but after an hour or two it melted. :( Oh well, maybe I'll get another snow day before March?

We have been working on sitting up the last few days. Logan isn't interested in the least, but I have been helping him try to get the hang of it.
Getting the lean on...
Whoops! Man down!

Loving those tootsies

I think it is safe to say he is READY for a real meal. Bless his heart. He watches Trey and I when we eat our food. Especially this morning as I ate my grits right in front of him. He was staring me down and looked like he wanted a taste. Tomorrow big boy - tomorrow :)

My little happy jumping bean :)

Naked time! He still loves laying on his bedroom floor, with nothing but a diaper on.

We are playing peek-a-boo all the time now - he loves it!

He seems so long to me - I swear he grows an inch every night

Here is a video of him having a ball in his jumper - I just laugh and laugh - he is too funny!
Tomorrow is the BIG day - Logan will get a taste of rice cereal for the very first time!!! I washed his bowls, spoons, and Trey put together his highchair. There is a Highchair in my kitchen! Can you believe it?? Is it that time already?

You're So Vain...

You probably think this song is about you...

Logan, you're so vain... you probably think this song is about you,

don't you, don't you, don't you??

haha - oh Logan loves his reflection in the mirror.

He only took a few second break to stare at me before holding the mirror back up to make sure his hair was still neatly pushed to the side. :)

These little moments are what I LOVE about staying home with him.

The Adams Baby Shower

Saturday was Luke and Irene's Baby Shower for precious baby Cole! All these boys - oh my! It is so fun they will have instant friends - how lucky are they? Best friends from birth :)

Lauren, Somerset, and I had so much fun planning and preparing for the couples shower. I ordered these yummy cookies from Blue Cake Co and they turned out perfect!

And off they went into the favor bowl

We were each in charge of a food item and I made pecan pralines. Super easy recipe from my mom - definitely Paula Deen approved (as you can see the extra butter sitting next to the pralines)There is nothing low fat about these puppies. But worth every single bite!

I ordered this super cute banner from etsy.com

Lauren and I went to Painted Pig and she made this frame for Cole. How fantastic is this?! She did a wonderful job!

Irene sent me tons of pics through their relationship and we had them scrolling on our tv for the shower.

Balloons for the mailbox

The food table

Delish Paula Deen lime sherbet punch - with a floating duckie for Irene to use at bath time that tells you if the water is too hot.

The punch did not disappoint!

Carrot cake cupcakes with toppers from etsy. (as you can tell I am an etsy.com fanatic. Its a problem, I can't stop!)

Amazing diaper cake!! Somerset always does a beautiful job, and how cute is that little 'baby' hanging off the side? she stuffed this outfit with diapers - Creative!!!

Hostesses and pretty mama-to-be: Somerset, Irene, Lauren, and me

Proud Parents-to-be! (and sweet baby cole)

The Hubs and I

Yummy food! Can you tell I was starving? Haha, I think I took 10 pics of the food table alone :)

Somerset instructing the game: Mommy/Daddy Trivia. We had 10 things about Luke and Irene when they were little such as "Who had their mouth wired shut" then everyone had to guess who it was. The person that got them all right won - which was Caitlin Irene's sister. It was funny since there were a lot of family members at the shower

Gift time!

Irene and Luke got some great items - their highchair, exersaucer, cute clothes, monogrammed burp cloths, babymonitor, etc. I think they are just about set for Cole's arrival.

After the shower Austin cam over while we were cleaning up and he and Logan got to say "whats up"

Isn't this just adorable?

Sweet Austin

It was such a wonderful day - I love Irene like a sister and was so honored to be able to throw her a baby shower. I am so lucky to have such amazing friends. They really are more like family to me since I am an only child. Family I hand-picked. Can't get ANY better than that! ;)
We love you Adams Family! Hurry up baby Cole - can't wait to meet you!!
