Mmmmm...Tasty Fingers

Guess who found his fingers? Yummy yummy! Logan's new obsession is chewing on his hands and fingers which is great for self soothing. Yay! He still won't take a paci. Usually we try to offer his wubbanub soothie before a bottle to soothe but recently he cries more because he knows its not a bottle. He has zero interest unless he is completely full, but then he won't keep it in his mouth for very long before spitting it out. Poor Gus (his wubbie). We tried dude, we tried. :)

After bath time - loving those fingers!

Soph has a new toy - which she promptly ripped a hole in about 5 minutes later. Lovely.

Daddy and Son Time!

We cannot believe he is 3 months old!!! Actually 3 months and a couple of weeks - but still. Growing and growing...

Loving his sing along tunes

Grabbing Morty the Moose

If its not fingers or hands its burp cloths and lovies. He can't get enough of them :)

Ready to go to eat!

I realized I never post any pics of me and Logan because I don't have any pics! How sad! I am always the picture taker - so we tried to snap some cute pics with his Halloween onesie that says "I'm Batty for Mommy". Lauren gave it to him - too cute!

Of course he wouldn't dare look at the camera - only 1 photo he is looking at it - geesh! That just means he and I need to take more photos :)

Look at that pouty lip - so sad!

Watching Daddy cook - how neat!

I am so stinkin excited!! I decided to try and put him in the crib for nap time, swaddled of course, and see how it went. All the books/articles say at 4 months they can definitely be on a schedule and by then they can try to self soothe to go back to sleep. So we are almost to 4 months and I wanted to try now since he does so well swaddled at night. It went GREAT!!!! Yesterday he was so tired from our outing that I knew he would pass out. We fed him, swaddled him, fed a little more and out he went. He slept in the crib for 2 1.5 hours!!! HOORAY!!
Trey and I kept staring at the video monitor making sure he was still breathing (okay actually I kept staring at the monitor while Trey shook his head.) haha - I can't help it, its either that or creep in his room every 5 minutes to watch his little chest move up and down. luckily on the monitor you can see it! :)
So, today I work MOD shift which is 5 pm - 11 pm (yuck I know) but for his first nap we swaddled him and put him in the crib. And the crying began. It took 3 different tries of letting him cry for 2-3 minutes, then taking him out of the crib, feeding him a little more, he passes out in our arms, we put him down again, and he wakes up and cries again. But like I said, only 3 tries of that and finally he stayed down for an hour. Trey put him down for his second nap once I left for work and he is still sleeping! YIPPEE!!!!! I can't begin to explain how exciting that is for me. It's like the best successful feeling ever - it far outweighs any successful moment I had in the past. Welcome to Mommyhood right?

Logan's Nursery!

Kelly's Korner is doing the "Show Us Your Life" Fridays and this is such a fun topic! Everyone loves nursery's! :)

Welcome to Logan Holland's Nursery...

My favorite part about the nursery is this area - his beautiful crib, bedding, and monogram initials above the crib. My hubby actually picked this out - it looks perfect! I was going to put the letters of his name above the crib, but realized that was a little too much "Logan" since his crib bedding has his name on it too. I think it turned out great and he can use this monogram when we change everything into a toddler room :)

I wanted to have matching curtains made so badly - but I couldn't justify spending $300-400 for something hanging over a window. I decided to go to Bed Bath and Beyond and found cute curtains for a steal ($14 bucks!) and they match the brown and khaki on his bedding. Love it when I find a good deal.

His little book shelf and hamper

Blessing Ring that one of my best friends made for him - thank you Lauren!

I found this at Hobby Lobby for $1.25! Super cute and a good keepsake

We finally hung his newborn pics above the changing table. The room is finally complete!

I had the square plate made at Firefly Studio and the frame with Logan's pic was signed by all our dear friends at the Couples Shower. Such a sweet idea! The board above was made and given to me at my Dallas shower from Amy (my cousin's wife). She matched the colors perfectly and it is a beautiful addition to Logan's room.

And here he is! 3 months old - can't believe how fast time goes and how big he is now! Precious precious baby boy - love him to pieces.

A Little Romance Never Hurt Anyone...

My Sweet sweet hubby showed up after work with these beautiful flowers and yummy chocolates!!

How unbelievably sweet is he? 8 years together and he is still bringing on the romance - well hunny, keep on bringing! :)

Nursery Complete!

We finally have Logan's nursery complete! We put up two pictures from his newborn session over his changing table.

Sophie can't stand to not be in a photo - haha

This is the same - but wanted to show it with the new photos from his session. Sweet baby!

Happy on the changing table...

What is this crazy camera?? My camera is hot pink so he stares at it when I bring it out - hilarious

Naked Time!! :)

Playing after mommy gets home from work

Well - the first week is coming to and end, sort of. I am office coverage Saturday which stinks. But at least tomorrow is Friday! I feel like this week has gone so slowly - but I think the weeks will pick up now that I have survived the first one. I do miss Logan so much during the day, but I feel great that Trey and my Mom are watching him during the week. I am beyond exhausted though. Even though Logan is still sleeping through the night (praise the Lord!) I don't get quality sleep and still get up to pump around 2-3 am. I am trying to function on 5-6 hours of sleep every night and that is proving to be very difficult. But, I am trying to stay positive! :)
Logan has been very sweet when I get home - he talks to me in babble and giggles when I sing songs to him. I ask him about the details of his day and he just cackles and smiles. I will try to video it and post it - he is just precious!

Did Anyone Call for a Nap?

Not Logan - that's for sure. Just read his shirt and you will understand what is going on (or not going on) at our house!
Yep - he hasn't really had a good long nap in a few days! This is very hard on mommy since that is when I get some alone time and chores done. He has slept 20 minutes here and there but wakes up shortly after I put him in the swing or bouncy seat. He used to sleep in there for 2-3 hours!! But, maybe since he is sleeping so much at night he is over long naps during the day? Or it could be a phase (lets hope so!)
Here he is watching another baby Einstein dvd - he just loves them! It has been neat to watch him soaking in all that info - the colors, shapes, sounds, etc. Gotta love fun learning :)

Well - bad news. I was SO excited about these Swaddle Pods I found at Babies the other day. I bought one to try it out but was so sure it would be perfect I almost ordered 2 more online. Thank goodness I didn't! See for yourself what Logan thought about them...

Hate is a strong word - but I think it is necessary to describe how much he did not like this swaddle pod. He screamed bloody murder from the second we zipped it up! I thought it would be genius because there is no work involved - you zip up the arms and voila! Sleep here we come! But oh no - he can still move those arms inside of the straight jacket sleeper which I didn't account for. Poop. Oh well, we couldn't get this off quick enough. We did the regular swaddle and he was out like a charm :)

Off to enjoy the rest of my evening with my little man before work tomorrow!
