Aunt Mel for the Weekend....

I flew to Dallas to spend some time with Amber and Miss Aubrey (AKA Future Heart breaker) and we had a blast! We got some much needed girls time and we also got some unpacking done. Amber and Andrew just moved into a new house, so my main purpose was to go help with Aubrey and/or unpack boxes. We accomplished both, and even had time to go see Bride Wars!
I came home with lots of baby experience and plenty of fun memories. Ah, I miss them already!

I successfully put together this Baby Einstein Jumper for Aubrey! Amber definitely helped when trying to secure the seat (we should have read the directions closer!) But we did it!!
Who says I'm not Domestic??

Aubrey tried rice cereal and applesauce for the FIRST time while I was visiting. She did great! She finally got the hang of the spoon going into her mouth, and at the same time, having to suck off the cereal. She loved it - what a big girl :)

Prayers are needed for this sweet family!

I am a self-admitted Blog-Stalker (hey, at least i am honest...)ha! and I came across this blog of this sweet family. I have been reading their posts dating back to March 2006! After years of struggling to get pregnant, their prayers were finally answered in the form of a baby girl named Harper. She was born Friday, and was immediately flown to Tulsa in very serious condition. I am beside myself for this family...they did have some better news today, which is a step in a positive direction! Please keep them in your prayers, especially baby Harper.
Here is their blog... http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/

Everything has been going well for Trey and I. My new roles at work have changed and therefore I am working like a maniac! Between night MOD's, weekend MOD's and Saturday Office Coverage, I feel like I need to pack an overnight bag and stay at the hotel! It is a little insane, but I am surviving. I am lucky to still have a job and I know how blessed I am. I just need a little venting every now and then :)

Trey's job is going good....they just completed shift bids and he was able to stay on a day shift which is great! Other than jobs, we are painting our guest bedroom which is turning out very pretty! I will post pics once it is complete. Next project...painting the office!
Aside from household projects, we are just busy trying to keep Sophie off of Bella. That is certainly harder than it sounds...ha!

Oswa-liday Cocktails III at Liz's House!

Sunday Dec. 28th was the date for Oswa-liday Cocktails III at Liz Oswald's house! It is our Christmas get together with everyone and always a blast. Liz is quite the Martha Stewart and always cooks up a gourmet storm for us to enjoy. There is also the yummy (and quite dangerous) ginger punch that we all love so much. Our last little bit of Holiday Cheer before the New Year!

Tulsa and Route 66

Trey and I went to visit Somerset and Steven this past weekend in Tulsa, OK. We had a great time! We got to meet Harley, their new addition, and spend some quality time with them. What can be wrong with good food, great conversation, and fabulous friends? We miss them dearly and wish we all lived close together.

Mr. Harley, Somerset and Steven's Bulldog. He was too cute and very well behaved!!

In Tulsa...yes I am aware I am wearing red and green and no that was not on purpose :)

We had our November 2008 Photo Shoot a week ago and we just got our pics back from Meagan. They are so good! She is a talented up and coming photographer who has brilliant ideas and is very professional to work with. We had a great time shooting at Our House, Wildwood Park and Hillcreast.

Look at Sweet Bella! She was sitting so perfectly for the camera (and her treat that was waiting on her.)

Mel's 27th Birthday!!

My 27th Birthday was November 13th and I had the best day! My mother-in-law dropped off a gift bag at my door for me to find before I left for work which was so sweet! It was a wonderful start to my day!
I get to work and as soon as i walk in I see my "Pink Carpet Entrance" laid out in the hallway going to my desk which was hilarious and awesome! Then, our office table was decorated with a pink tablecloth, balloons, confetti, and gifts. It was awesome! We ordered pizza for lunch, and later in the afternoon, one of my co-workers, who had drawn my name for my birthday, brought in this amazing pink triple layer cake that his wife made. It was gorgeous and so yummy! I also got a Starbucks gift card which made my day! Peppermint Mocha's are my favorite this time of year.

For dinner, Trey and I went to our favorite steak place Colonial and it was amazing with great service. It was such a special birthday and I am so thankful for everyone in my life. The cards I received from my friends and family was the cherry on the top of a perfect birthday. I cannot believe I am 27! Three more years until 30! But I am enjoying every minute of it :)

The Furry Children

Two new pics of the pooches. Sophie is growing up so fast!

I never posted this photo of Sophie when she was little. We put her into our bathroom for ONE hour while we ran to the store. I completely forgot I hid a 6 pack of toliet paper underneath the sink. She found it, and managed to rip every single roll of toliet paper to tiny shreds within one hour! I just had to take a picture! At the time we were definitely not laughing, but looking back it was quite hilarious!

Meeting Baby Aubrey!

We were so excited that Amber and Andrew came into town this weekend! We finally got to meet Aubrey Michelle and she is the cutest thing you have ever seen! She was so perfect and sweet. We have missed them so much since they moved to Dallas and it was great to catch up and see them.

Trey fed Aubrey and then she fell asleep in his arms. How sweet!
