I am sure you are wondering what on earth would lead me to post that title - don't you worry I will get to that...but first and more importantly, I just have to say I LOVE that my little guy is still completely loving his pack n play for morning time before breakfast! As soon as he wakes up we change diaper then I pop him in here with his toys and music then I am off to make his bfast and start on mama's coffee. He entertains himself and is happy as a clam so I can quietly wake up (we all know how hard mornings are for me - I am SO not a morning person!)

love his little laugh - we have been practicing humming and then popping your hand on and off your mouth making an "Indian noise" (okay sorry, totally not politically correct but you catch my drift) Not sure what to call that....don't mean to offend! Anyway, he loves it and laughs hysterically every time.

Staring at the falling big flakes of SNOW on Monday - he was mesmerized! Unfortunately, it didn't stick or keep falling long enough for us to get him bundled and outside to enjoy. But he sure was fascinated watching it.

Mom was over since she didn't want to get "snowed in" on her street and helping me (hence the Pity Party title... its coming, its coming...promise)

Mom took Logan outside to see everything and light snow/sleet was falling at this point...

Our little escapee :) He was so upset - he thought he was going into the car for a ride....and was mad that we dragged him out for just a little snow. Poor thing :)

We found these trees in his huge animal bag we gave him for Christmas that has 1 of almost every kind of animal - since he is obsessed with anything animal! The branches spin so of course he is obsessed...he played with these trees forever - the rest of the afternoon.

And the famous Ball Pit! He is loving this thing more and more....

He will tump it over and roll all around inside - and laugh and giggle...and do it all over again. All the balls fall out and he thinks that is hilarious so he crawls all around pushing them everywhere. Tons of fun for him - not so much for whoever has to clean up an find all of the 100 balls. Seesh.

And about that little Party you are invited too...this should explain it ALL...................

Yep. A bone chip in my left foot. No bueno folks, no bueno. I was loading a brand new 6 foot folding table I got for my 31 parties into my car on Friday evening and it is pretty heavy and I couldn't find the handle (that was tucked inside) and I lifted it to put in the back of my car when it slipped from my hands and BOOM - landed right on my left foot in the middle, between the toes and ankle. YOWZA!!!! It immediately knocked the breath out of me and I cried salty tears in my driveway for a few until I limped inside and frantically called Trey yelling for him to rush home. I felt it swelling so I dropped to the floor in our laundry room and flipped over a laundry basket to elevate it. It was the worst pain next to child birth and we all know how I feel about that whole experience!

So, I couldn't get the boot off, or didn't want to take it off bc it HURT TOO DARN MUCH and I iced it over my boot for a while. Then I finally got up enough guts to pull the boot off - it was either that or cut it off and I LOVE those darn grey boots so that was hardly an option. It finally came off - another round of excruciating pain - then we iced my foot and kept it elevated all the rest of the night. Luckily, Logan was staying at my moms house because I don't know how we would have dealt with him since this happened at 5 pm.

Basically, I stayed off my foot Saturday and most of Sunday and finally got into see the doctor on Tuesday and they did xrays which confirmed it was a Bone Chip. Which apparently is a good thing - it isn't quite as serious as a fracture and thank goodness its not broken! Healing is 2-4 weeks, hopefully 2 weeks to walk then 4 for exercise. WAY better than 6-8 weeks!!! Whew.

So I just wear this special shoe when I leave the house and take Ibuprofen to help the swelling go down. It isn't as painful now, but just annoying because I am walking on my heel around the house. My wonderful mother has been helping and taking care of me and Logan - thank goodness!!!!!

Yes, I am so very thankful its just a chip - but honestly, I am still inviting you to a Pity Party in my honor because this still stinks and I am so FRUSTRATED and way upset that I have been working SO hard with my exercise and weight loss that now I am just stuck....waiting.....patiently.....until I can work out again. And trying to stay in my calorie range to not gain weight back. So far so good - thank-you-lean-cuisines.

Alas, I must dig those Big Girl Panties out of my drawer and put a few pairs on to remind myself I can deal with this - get through this - and in a year this will all be a small blip in our lives.

But, for tonight - you will find me laying on the couch, pouty lips, feeling a tad sorry for myself and watching Real Housewives... Tomorrow is a new day and I think those Big Girl Panties will be calling my name :)

We had a busy morning at a fun playdate that wore Logan OUT! He rarely takes long naps and he is pushing 2 hours!!! Here are a few pics from the playdate that another sweet mom took :)

Its always nice to get together with other moms who are in the same season of life and be humble together - being honest about our flaws and short comings...and laugh about our kiddos and what they are doing and eating - or lack thereof and man it sure makes me feel better! Sometimes you feel so alone in this game called life and its nice to get together with fellow moms and chat and compare notes. :) He has been so much better about throwing fits when getting into his car seat and such - I am thankful for that for sure.

clapping and YAY so proud of himself! He has really developed quite the little personality lately - walking or running all around the house cracking himself up. He laughs at his videos, books, toys, and himself. So many things make him laugh which is so beautiful - their innocence is just a blessing.

Making sure the lamp is ON - he can FINALLY say Light - sort of. But hey its better than Wa Wa which sounds nothing like light - ha! I mean, honestly, if he is going to insist that every lamp and fan be on all day in the house then he can atleast learn the correct word :)

He is so sweet, always walking up to give me a hug - then goes off to play. He is always shy when we walk into a playdate and clings to me, but then once he notices a fan or light or lamp he is off! He will come back every so often and give me a hug for reassurance :) I love it - such a sweet sweet boy! Time out is working better...he has only been in it 3-4 times. But he understands the word and knows it means business.
In other positive news - I have lost a grand total of 36 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, I am just elated - and in heaven! Loving how strong I am getting from working out and doing Turbo Fire and keeping track of my cals/food on www.myfitnesspal.com which is FREE and super easy peasy and holds me accountable! Still have my goals I am working towards and with 5 more pounds my reward is a pair of Toms shoes! Yay!! :) Then its onto goals for the beach in May!

Still rocking and rolling with my Thirty-One Business and starting to write again...trying to daily. Its a passion of mine that I need to get back into :)

Well...the little man just woke up so off I go!

Growing Up...

He keeps growing. I know, I know. Its CRAZY how quick this happens and sometimes I look at him and he is well, just bigger. Like his ears have grown - and his head looks larger. Hands and feet too. Ugh - I feel like next time I blink he will be waving goodbye and off to college! YIKES!!! It scares me so much so that all morning we have been at home playing and doing whatever the little toddler wants to do. He has my complete undivided attention! Its been so fun :) Not that he doesn't have my attention most of the time - but life is busy. There are always dishes to be washed, loads of clothes to be folded, and cleaning to be completed. Not to mention trying to keep up with my Thirty-One business, start writing again, and trying to get my fitness on and lose the rest of this weight and tone up!!!

To document I have lost 30 lbs so far! Hooray! And going strong...I am doing this Beast Challenge with some friends where its a point system for the month of February and the winner/top 3 get a cash prize!!!!!!!! Its on like donkey kong :)

Okay so my update from his 18 month appt is 25 lbs which is the 37th percentile, height is 34 inches (but lets be honest - I really don't think he is that much because he was kicking , screaming, and thrashing all around so the doctor said that wasn't too accurate) Head is 183/4. He didn't have the best appt because he hates to be restrained and doesnt like people touching him or messing with him - so he freaked out about being weighed so much so that Trey had to hold him and weigh himself! He kept pushing the nurses hand away while she was measuring his head and of course the shots were a epic fail. It took all 4 of us holding him down and he was still thrashing and screaming bloody murder before she even gave him a shot. I think laying on that table does it for him - he HATES it. Luckily we don't go back until 2 years and no more shots until....wait for it....... FOUR years old!!! Jackpot!! I was seriously about to have a panic attack trying to figure out how we would live through his 2-3 year shots if this is that is how traumatic the 18 mo appt was!

He is getting better at helping me clean up - in the sense that if I hand him a toy or ask him to hand me a ball, etc he will do it and sometimes he even puts things back in the right places! Like his ball pit or he will put the puzzle pieces below in the places, or at least tries too :)

I know every mom knows this - but its amazing how much they understand even though they cant verbalize it. Wow!

We have been spending all these nice days at parks, the zoo, and walks outside. I admit, I am very thankful for this mild winter because I have an active toddler that gets bored being couped up inside. BUT - I am so sad about not having any snow...of course it could still happen...I mean we do live in Arkansas! I love love love winter and the cold days, bundling up inside watching wintery movies, with hot coco, love winter clothes, ugg boots, tights, etc. I also really wanted him to be able to play in beautiful snow! Last year he was too young to do anything in the winter wonderland we received. But for now I will just continue to be thankful for the lovely spring weather :)

Remote Hog :) Another thing I want to remember is that I pulled out my stand mixer to bake muffins and he had a meltdown - bless his heart. He was terrified! We lifted him up to get a closer look and he was shaking while clinging onto me and crying. When I put him down he was gently pushing me away from it and trying to lead me with his little hands - awwwwww so sweet.
He didn't want mommy to get hurt by the mean ole mixer :) He contiued to be upset and cry for almost 30-40 minutes even after the mixer wasn't mixing....my sweet sensitive boy.

In other news on the home front, Trey received a great promotion at work!!!!!!!! He interviewed for a Supervisor management position and got it!!! Hooray Daddy!!!! We are so very proud of him and all he has accomplished and I think he will really like this transition :)

Sometimes it gets too quiet in the house, you know what I mean, and I find him hidden in his closet hoarding toys :)

And we are definitely in full on toddler 18 month crying tantrum behavior. Yep. And it ain't pretty. We also started Time Out a few days ago and it was a complete disaster the first time. He thought it was a big game and I was like SuperNanny and kept putting him back over and over - 25 times to be exact! Sheesh. But after the third time of TO yesterday I think he is starting to understand more - its all about consistency and I have that down pat. We chose a corner in the hallway where they are no toys/distractions. If he starts to get up I just put him right back and keep my hand holding him in place and usually it does it. The few times we had to do TO it was over not listening - he would try to touch/push a lamp over and after us telling him 2 times and 1 warning of TO he smiled and touched it again. There you have it. Blatant Defiance folks. :)

Happy 18 Months!!

I cannot believe I have an 18 month old!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN???????????

You dont know? Me neither. But at this rate I'll be sending him off to his first day of Kindergarten next month - yikes!

He is doing great at 18 months - lets see here are some stats (we go to his doc appt tomorrow so I will know weight and height then :)

He is still wearing size 5 diapers and sleeps GREAT at night! 7 pm - 7-8 am. I hardly ever hear a peep! Praise! Naps are so so - most of the time 1 hr and a half but sometimes its 45 min or 3 hours. You just never know!

He has such a personality! We are trying to encourage please and thank you. He holds his arm up for please (but we started that because he held it up for us to turn on any lights so since he already knew that we transferred it into please - genius I know haha)

He is definitely having the irrational tantrums. He wanted his blue bib on the other day so badly after lunch, but before nap, and he had a total meltdown sobbing and sobbing. I have no clue what that was about but he was desperate to get that bib on! Probably stalling before nap :)

He also fights me almost every diaper change and getting into the car seat. This is probably the most annoying tantrum. UGH. We are seriously about to start Time Out - I think I've said that a gazillion times but honestly, I mean it! ;) Mainly because he is really understanding No and he started spitting out milk and water and laughing when we tell him no. Which results in a major clothing change and almost bath because of how sticky milk is - and not to mention cleaning the carpet!!!

Eating is still very hit or miss - the child won't touch a veggie or potato, noddle, etc to save his life. But he does love toast, now he also likes raisin toast, no more cheese toast, cheese cubes, bananas, waffles, and all things crackers and snacks. Likes Veggie Sticks and most muffins - as long as they are orange or brownish (he won't try the chocolate chip white muffin I just made) Go figure - boy he doesn't know what he is missing out on! But he loves the honey bran one and of course pumpkin bread, gingerbread, etc

His future Wife should thank me, really. I mean - who won't love a guy that knows his way around the house with a broom!? He is getting to where he sort of wants to help clean up - well sometimes. He will hand me blocks to put back or put them in the box himself. Only if I ask. he brings me things off the floor if he doesn't' know what they are which I love! Sometimes they are dangerous - like rocks or a tiny plastic piece!

He loves Sophie - he tries to throw her toys for her to chase which is just precious! he throws her his balls too which she isn't supposed to have but seeing as the ball pit has over 100 balls that just isn't a battle I am willing to start! :)

In the nice weather we go to the park - he loves running around (Yes he is RUNNING these days!) Wearing me OUT :)

He is really grasping what we say to him more and more - he knows when I say "lets go" or "lets get in the car" we are leaving. He will tell the TV "Bye Bye" at night after his video ends. If we are somewhere else and I say "lets go home and see sophie" he knows its his dog and we are about to leave. I have started giving him countdowns when we have to leave a fun place so he is more prepared. He still pitches a fit for his car seat but it isn't as bad sometimes. Life with a toddler is NEVER boring :)

How precious is she?!? Congrats to Somerset and Steven - Savannah Paige Sea entered the world on January 8th and she stole our hearts right away! We are all way excited for a baby girl to get in the mix of all these boys!!

When did this adorable little boy get so BIG!!!!!!!!!????????

We are loving this stage - he is so much fun! And also very smart - I gotta stay on my toes with this one...he is a crafty little sucker. Definitely tests limits and smiles while doing so - ha! He is sensitive and as sweet as pie...but he does have a sneaky streak and he is stubborn as a bull at times. He is also VERY strong! When he decides to throw a little tantrum and if I am holding him - I gotta watch out. He is so heavy/strong that he can almost work his way out of any grasp I have on him - whew! Wears a mama out. But - those are for the most part becoming more predictable :) When he doesn't want to eat a snack or a meal - he fights the highchair - or the car seat. He has started screaming/crying when we run errands if we stop the car and he can't get out - the world is over. Poor guy - we can't always go somewhere fun! :)

He has started helping me clean up (well his version) He will help hand me toys and put a puzzle piece back if I ask him. He likes to hand Sophie her doggie toys and he will throw his balls for her to chase. If he finds something on the carpet he will bring it to us - love this! because the other day he found a rock and something else semi dangerous and he brought it to me instead of trying to taste it! Big progress!!

I also started making him walk into his own room for naptime and night time - he usually takes his sweet time getting there - but hasn't run away yet. He finally gets into the room after dancing around the door and then I praise him and we get his jammies on. Love this stage!!

Mid drop of food - uh huh. He knew he was in trouble - ha!

Grammy celebrated her birthday on January 1st - we went over for a meal and had a great time!

We are blessed - yes I say this many many times but I just keep on saying it because its TRUE! So we are on a tight budget since I stay at home and we didn't do a huge Christmas because he doesn't really know this year so we stayed pretty low key on presents. But a week ago our sweet neighbors called (they have a little boy who is almost 5) and they offered to sell us this amazing 50s diner for only $25!!!! What a steal! These things are worth tons brand new - and they needed to get rid of it so we said absolutely!

Logan LOVES it! You can sit on one side and then cook up a storm on the other - super cute and it came with tons of play food and even a jukebox that plays a few tunes and a sizzler and boiling water noise effect! Too cool - right now he loves to take the food in and out of all the compartments but soon he will enjoy imaginative play cooking us up something yummy :) Just so thankful we got this great deal - because otherwise this would have been a hefty amount in the store. Yay!

Of course he immediately learned how to climb on the chair and climb through the pass through - geesh!

I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL New Years Eve!!!! We are staying in - oh so boring I know :) But we did enjoy a little NYE lunch Sushi with our favorite little man :)

Merry Merry 2011

Happy Happy Christmas!!! We had a lovely holiday - very low key with dear family. Perfecto! First, one of my oldest and bestest friends Katherine was in town from NYC and I loved getting to see her a couple of times - miss her soo much! Here we are with sweet L.

Christmas day was fabulous - we hosted it at our house but we did a Potluck so my parents and Vivian all cooked a couple of things, as did we, and everyone came over for dinner - and to watch Logan open his gifts!

So the first gift was this cute ball from TWP and he loved it! So much so that he was uninterested in staying to open any other gifts - ha!

So we played with the ball for a little while :)

He did great at Christmas Dinner - we had a yummy spread that he wouldn't dare touch - but thats okay...more for ME!!! He ate some of the dinner roll and his usual PB toast and cheese and crackers/puree. I made him try Seafoam salad which he didn't seem too excited about. :)

I say it all the time, but it never gets old...how very blessed are we?? We look forward to 2012 and health, happiness, and wonderful family and friends!!! Cheers!

Yep. Like I said...full on Toddler Behavior happening at The Gould household! Haha - he cracks me up. Clenched fists, shaking them while stomping his feet and scrunching his little sweet face. Fun times folks, fun times. But even in a fit he looks adorable, right? :)

lets just say he was NOT in a mood to have pics taken - its harder and harder to come by these days. He is on the move all the time so any sitting still just usually doesn't happen :)

At 17 months Logan is...

1. wearing size 5 diapers

2. still a super picky eater - eats bananas and waffles for bfast, toast, cheese cubes, and puree for lunch, snacks are cheese and yogrut or puffs, and dinner is PB toast, more banana, and puree. Yogrut melts and crackers in between - he LOVES crackers!!! I always put an array of other foods on his tray like corn, greens, pears, peaches, etc but he never tries them. On a side note - the other day I got ChickFilA for lunch a kiddie meal and he was eating lunch too so he asked for a cracker as I spread some chicken and french fry on his tray just seeing if he would try it. I said "yes cracker" and he gobbled up the chicken and fry!!!!!! Maybe thinking it was a cracker??? I couldn't believe it!!! He hasn't touched anything since but hey its a start :)

3. He sleeps GREAT at night! 7 pm - 7-8 am the next morning without waking up at all. Naps are hit or miss. He goes down around 12:30-1 pm and sleeps anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on the day. He loves his burp cloth so we always let him have that while in his crib

4. He is learning new sounds/words all the time it seems! If you ask him about certain animals from his books he will be able to tell you what sound they make. He can say Grrrr like a Lion or Tiger, Moo for Cow, Monkey noise, Woof Woof for Dog, Hoo Hoo for Owl, Neeeigh for Horse, laughs like a Hyena, Grrs like a bear, caw caws for a Bird. He can say Dog, Ball, Mama, Dada, Truck, Car, Wa Wa for water and light, Ga Ga for waffle and other things, etc
He JUST started clapping!!!

He is on the Go Go Go! But he is a sweet cautious child. He definitely also goes against the grain in social settings sometimes - if everyone is in a circle singing or doing something in a group he is the one who fights me to get away and run around :)

He is pretty sturdy on his feet - he is kind of running now too...in the house at least. And he does get upset. Like we went to the wrong gym for a free play bc the address was wrong on the website and he freaked out when we left and he knew he didnt get to play. Of course at this age you can't explain we were going right down the road and he would get to play - all he knew is that we were getting right back in the carseat. I almost dropped him trying to make it out to the car and he had to have his meltdown while I closed the backseat car door and he screamed and cried and thrashed around on the seat next to me for 3-5 minutes. when he calmed down I put him in the car seat and he just sobbed like his little heart was broken :( My sensitive boy

His FIRST art project! Thanks to Lauren - she has great creative ideas from her teacher days and invited us over for handprint trees :) He did NOT like panting his hand to make the tree but we survived and so glad we did it~!

I can't believe its Christmas Eve - oh my goodness where did the year go??? I am thankful and blessed to have health, happiness, and my dear family and friends - and of course this precious precious gift from God. Motherhood is what I always dreamed it would be - an amazing journey that I get to share with this beautiful boy. Feeling very blessed this Christmas!

These Are The Days

I barely find the time to post about our little life let alone what I am thinking and feeling about this precious time in Logan's life. I want to remember what I thought during the hard times when he is older and of course when he is in his Tween years - heaven forbid! And for good record keeping :)

We ventured out on a quick brisk walk around the park the day it snowed - I bundled him up and we just HAD to get out of the house before cabin fever took us over. He LOVED it - and I got a few good shots of the beautiful scenery.

I am beyond blessed I get to stay home with this little prince every day. I realize not many moms get to do that so I try to be very aware what a gift this is for me to spend this time with him. I am so thankful for Pajama days where we never leave the house and play in our Jammies ALL day long! I love that we can have nothing on the agenda but pick up and run to the park if we want, to the Zoo in nice weather, or The Wonder Place as soon as they open to beat the crowd if we feel like it. We are on OUR time and it feels so wonderful. I love watching him grow and learn daily - and of course also get to endure the tantrums and unhappiness that overcomes him on a daily basis. But I get to also be there when he gets over it and comes to give me a big hug. These are the moments - the precious precious memories we are building. I try to focus on that when I feel like my chores are out of control and when the cleaning seems overwhelming. When he hands me a book to read 9 times out of 10 I will put down the duster and sit down with him to read a few books.

I know Trey works so very hard to provide for our little family and there are not enough words to ever explain how grateful I will always be for being able to hang out with Logan every day. I know it isn't guaranteed forever - so I try to appreciate each and every day. :)

We played at the park for a little while - he mainly ran circles around and around testing our the surfaces mixing between the pavement and turf.

We have been to a few playdates and hosted one on Friday which was a little insane - lots of mamas and babies! I think it scared Logan he stayed in his room most of the time...I am starting to see parts of his personality - I think he does better with just a few kiddos :) Lesson learned!

He really hasn't touched the Christmas tree - he doesn't mess with any decorations - only my standard candle he always tries to steal - but its been pretty pleasant! One thing he is doing constantly is asking for every single light/lamp to be turned on in every room all day! So, he will go up to every lamp and loudly say "wa wa!" until you turn it on. If you turn them off he goes back and says it again over and over. He usually won't enter a room if the lights are off until you come and turn them on - he will stand in the door way - haha

He had a major meltdown at the Park today - we went for just 20 minutes and he freaked out when we left...crying so hard and arching his back to get out of his car seat. Lord the family that was there was probably traumatized - ha!

He is definitely a sensitive little boy - so sweet. He gets his feelings hurt easily and when he doesn't get his way he lets you know. This toddler is growing before my eyes and I can't believe it! Christmas is here next weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!

First Haircut!

Logan was such a brave little boy yesterday when he got his first haircut!! We took him to Amy the stylist who cuts our hair and she did it for free which was sweet especially since it wasn't the easiest experience - ha! :)

When the first cut happened - unsure what to think but he definitely knows something is up...

And the emotions come out - he was not into this haircut. He didn't like Amy touching his hair or not knowing where she was behind him. We would distract him for a second with a book or song but then as soon as she swept in and cut a piece he would whip around and push her hand away or brush his hair and get fussy. Poor little guy!

Poor face...she even broke out the big guns and offered his first sucker but he took 1 taste and threw it on the ground. Yep. Not surprised because of his general pickiness but to pass up sweets? Whew - he thankfully has better genes that his Mama! haha

All in all it was okay - she was able to trim the pieces in his eyes and the beginnings of a mini rat tail forming in the back - haha. I think he did pretty well considering what it could have been like :)

Just wanted to show a few pics of bathtime - he LOVES it now!!

He basically gets all the toys out of the way and splashes the water around like crazy soaking the entire bathroom - and me. (Kid you not, I have to change my clothes and my hair is so wet you would think I took a bath with him!) But he has a ball - in fact I think too much of one last night because he kept splashing big gulps of water into his open mouth and choking - whoops!

Yep - this is one of the times he got too much water in his mouth!

I am so thankful he is having fun with water rather than the screaming/crying scared bath time not too long ago.

We have been doing good - just busy! Logan spends most of his days looking at all fans, lights, and lamps in rooms and wanting them to be turned on. He goes into a room and does a survey. Then says "Wa Wa~" while holding his right arm up so if I don't hear him he will say very loudly WA WA until I come into the room and help him turn the lights on...it is pretty cute and hilarious!

He is busy busy - he has recently been defiant - He knows not to touch my xmas decor and I heard a crash the other day and he knocked off my plate and candle combo luckily not breaking it, but he was smiling until I saw what happened. Though my tone of voice usually doesn't make him feel bad - he smiles and laughs until I won't let him touch it again and then he breaks down and cries/throws a fit. He has started this banchee screeching scream when he is mad and isnt getting his way. WHEW it is unexplainable. Little stinker. Timeout is on the horizon - soon very soon.

Tonight I have my Mamas Group Christmas Party and I am oh so excited!!!

Turkey Day 2011!

We had a yummy Thanksgiving this year - with plenty of good food and surrounded by our small family - it was low key and nice! Irene and Cole came over to play before they left town and we put the boys in their matching sleepers for a mini photo session :)

Another new thing is he likes to wear bibs around the house. He has been doing this at Grammys for quite a while but just started it over here. He pulls a bib down and wants you to put it on him then he plays and walks around with it on. Too funny!

We are gearing up for Christmas!! I took down my fall decorations and am getting ready to make Christmas come alive in the next few days!!!! Yippee!

16 Months!

With complete shock and sadness I announce my baby boy is now 16 months old!! (only kidding - but seriously - can YOU believe it?!)

Logan is such a joy at 16 months - soooo much fun! He loves books - we read them 2-6 times a day, walks in his stroller and being outside, opening/closing cabinets and anything else like the dishwasher/washer, looking at himself in the mirror, and anything with wheels! He is a huge fan of music - esp his jazz kids cd and any lights/fans in rooms. He wants them turned on - all the time.

He does not like changing his diaper or getting him into the car seat - sometimes he is fine but if you take him away from playing or if you get him in the car when you dont go for a walk he pitches a royal fit. Yep. 2 year old behavior starting RIGHT now folks. Ugh. We are in tantrum mode - a daily occurrence but it isnt so bad I can't handle it thank goodness. I am sure that is coming soon! But he rolls, screams, cries, and kicks to get away on the changing table and car seat and sometimes his highchair.

He has not hit or bit us yet - *yet* - because I know that is coming....and I dread that day! He is saying a handful of words like dog, ball, mama, dada, gaga for thank you, wa wa for fan and water, and if you point to a dog in a book or he hears a dog outside he will say dog or woof woof! He will grrrr if you say "what does a tiger or lion say" and if you say "what does a bird say" he excitedly says "caw caw!" He can also make a semi elephant noise :) He seems to understand a lot of what he say - its so fascinating to watch him grow and learn!! Oh he can wave hi and bye which I think I've already mentioned for my records sake :)

We went to his doc appt and he had shots plus a flu shot - ick. It was MUCH harder to keep him occupied as a toddler - he wanted to walk/crawl all around that room...ewww. He hates laying on the table and being restrained so it took 4 of us holding him down for shots - poor guy Trey and I were singing Frosty Snowman song but he still cried alot and it took a while for him to calm down. Mean ole shots! But she gave us some advice on food/meal time and discipline. She said he isnt too young for us to start timeout so we are discussing that when he throws a fit about the changing table, etc.

We are also going to start a new routine for meal time. Breakfast and dinner stay almost the same - as in food we know he likes and will eat. But lunch is going to be leftovers from the dinner before or what we eat. We put 1 thing that he will eat and the rest is new stuff - in hopes he will eventually try something! He never tries anything new - it might be texture - not sure, but you can't force him and he certainly won't pick up anything unless he is pushing it on the floor :( Oh dear. So...here is hoping he will try something and maybe even like it!!

He is in size 5 diapers - and wears 12-18 months - some 18-24 mo but pants are too long. He weighs 24 lbs 5 oz which is 40% and 31 inches long which is 34%. She said he is on the smaller end - but he is healthy and he is on track for his stats since birth.

He sleeps from 7 pm - 7-8 am (love my good sleeper!!) And he takes 1 nap a day (12:30 - 2 or 3) he isn't the BEST napper - at least he goes to sleep, but its all over the board whether he sleeps 1 hour or 2-3. Oh well - I guess that is normal for him :)

Love my precious precious boy - its amazing how each day my heart grows a little more to accommodate my ever growing love for him. It is unbelievable how much you can love another human being! So thankful for each day I get to spend with this little man :)

No excuses - I haven't been a good blogger lately. Sorry folks!! But I need to get back on track because this is my precious memory/record keeper for our family and memories don't write themselves :)

Logan LOVES breakfast - probably because he is starving when he wakes up in the AM. He eats waffles and bananas EVERY single morning. Mainly because he loves it and secondly because he is so picky its so much drama to try anything else. At least for bfast - I try new things constantly with the other meals and that never goes over well.

I love that he loves books - we read almost all 10-15 every day sometimes 2-4 times a day!!

He can tell you what sound a dog, tiger, bird, and monkey make from me pointing to a picture in a book. He also knows pics of himself and us he can tells me who we are :)

Oh dear. He has learned how to press the button and start the DVD player. He knows his Baby Einstein is in there and he thinks he can start it whenever he wants. Which is ALL the time - ha! Little does he know that ain't flying with mama :)

My 30th (yes you read that right) 30th birthday was Nov 13th. I cannot BELIEVE how old I am....sigh. My sweet friend Irene sent me these beautiful flowers and I received many thoughtful cards on my special day. Another BIG surprise is my dear friends threw me a SURPRISE party on my actual bday!!! It was amazing - and obviously very unexpected. I am always talking about how I want to do a blow out party for my 30th and it came true!!!! I love my friends - they are precious gifts from above :)

My mom had her 31 party this past week and here is my setup:

It was very successful!! I am getting more and more comfortable with parties and speaking/taking orders. I still have a lot to learn but its definitely a fun business! Just think - when I go to work I go to a Party!!!

The Stand Off...

And this is the face. When I put food on his tray that he hates, doesnt like, has never tried, etc he starts crying. He won't touch it - he usually flicks it off or tries too - and cries and sobs until I put something he will eat on his tray. Ugh. STRESSFUL.

Case in point. Below there is turkey pieces and cheese toast (which used to be a staple favorite but no longer is in the mix) and he was freaking out. Sigh..........

We go to his 15 mo appt monday and I am DYING to ask his doctor for advice/tips and see what she has to offer.

This little boy is the light of my life...

I mean, how could he not be? :)

I get to spend most of my day laughing at and with him...

He is so animated!

Poor little guy, he had a major meltdown the other day. Long story but we needed to get out of the house and we drove to The Wonder Place but they were way to busy bc apparently school was out (didnt realize) so we didnt attempt to go in and we drove to the free playtubes at Rock Creek instead...but...all the church doors were locked! Boo. We strolled around the whole building in search of an open door but we got nothing. Well it was cold but once he is in the stroller you might as well take a walk bc he will pitch a major fit trying to get back in the car seat because he is that obsessed with the stroller/walks. So we strolled the parking lot for a few minutes then it was waaaay too cold so I had to put him back in the car. Well, the inevitable meltdown occurred anyway. He was so distraught - crying and just sobbing. Heartbroken. So I sang and gave him his sippy cup and he finally let me strap him in.

Logan just loves books - which makes my heart happy and I love that one of his favorite things to do is bring me books to read to him.

Here are a few firsts - he threw up in his bed for the first time a week or so ago. I came into his room when he woke up and discovered it all over the crib and himself! He wasn't even crying - which I felt horrible bc I have no idea how long he slept like that - ugh. But if he was bothered by it I know he would have cried for me to come get him. Bless his heart. He never threw up again - so strange!

Mr. Tough Guy

He is still very much into Grrrring like a Tiger/Lion, Woofing like a Dog and making monkey noises. He also makes a funny elephant noise! He can say byebye and wave - this is a new one! MDO is getting better and better - he hasnt cried the last 2 times I dropped him off and he slept 50 minutes last week!!!!

We went to the Zoo on a whim at 4 pm the other day which turned out to be the best time to go! All the animals were starving so they were antsy/lively. We saw the monkeys swinging and oooooh ahhhhing up a storm and he even joined in with them.

The tigers/lions were so active too - running around and actually playing with their ball toys and jumping on one another - it was so fun to see! He was in heaven - and no one else was there - love it! Oh and the Giraffe's came right up to us for him to see - amazing :)

I cannot believe my 30th (gasp) birthday is coming up on Sunday - am I REALLY that old???!! How did 30 years fly by?? Ohhhhh dear :)

Lauren and I were involved in our first Holiday Open House Party with 6 vendor booths and it went great! We were all in one house and had our individual tables and each vendor invited everyone they knew - we didn't have a super great turnout, but people did come and we even got a few orders - hooray!!! We also got to catch up with an old friend so that was really nice :)

15 Months and Happy 90th!

He did amazing on the trip! I was shocked...he didn't cry at all in the car - only fussed a few times but that was short lived. He didn't take a nap either...he just won't sleep at all in the car. But he played, looked out the window, and I brought his music cds to listen too and he was pretty content. We stopped at Whataburger (YUM) and he did great there too! He also slept wonderfully in the bathroom - hey you do what you have to :) I turned his fan on and he slept from 7 pm - 7 am!

Trey and I took him to the Zoo again since it was a hit the first time and to soak up all this glorious fall weather. He just loves those silly penguins!

I cannot believe I have a 15 month old!! It just blows my mind...

We go from being very upset about getting in the highchair...

to very serious about mealtime..

to extremely happy about Mama taking pics!

My little 15 month old:

-size 4 diaper (but they are a little small we are moving into 5's and an overnight 5 for bedtime)
- goes to sleep at 7 pm and wakes up at 7:30-8am and never gets up in the middle of the night...knock on wood....seriously :)

-takes 1 nap a day usually 12-12:30 I put him down and he sleeps anywhere from 1 hour - 2 hrs.

- Eats waffles and bananas for breakfast. Snack at 10 am of cheese, yogurt, and puffs or cheerios, lunch at Noon of PB sandwich or cheese toast with puree veggies and some other finger foods, snack at 3 pm same as before, and dinner around 5:30 either PB or cheese toast with puree and other finger foods. He still isn't trying new things but we keep trying to put them on his tray.
He is not a big snacker - he really doesn't eat a ton of food at this point.

- We havent been to the doc so not sure on weight yet...will update when we go
- He is doing SO much better at MDO!!! He didn't cry when I dropped him off last week - hooray!!! He didn't look happy, but didnt cry. He has been playing and eating all his food so that is amazing :)

- He does have a temper, but he usually stops when you tell him no, if not the first time, usually by the 2-3rd. Sometimes if he is tired or cranky I have to pull him away and he cries and is upset. I also feel like at this stage he is easily distracted which is great - if I sing a song or say "what does a tiger say" or recite a book he will stop crying and listen. He rarely likes to have his diaper changed.

-I also notice he is light sensitive which he definitely gets from me. In the morning I cant turn on a lamp or he cries and puts the burp cloth lovie in his face. Sun bothers him too.

- He LOVES walks - is obsessed with being outside in the stroller!! Loves his books and Fans - he is still very obsessed with fans and if they are on or off. He calls them wa was still and lights are ga gas.

He really likes his burp cloth for naps and bedtime but he isnt attached during the day. I offer it but he only takes it if he is super tired.

- he is drinking whole milk like a champ and water only. thank goodness he likes it!!!!!!!!

My heart somehow grows an inch each day to be able to store all the love that I have for this little man - he is so very precious and I treasure every day I get to spend with him :)

Somerset's baby shower was this past weekend and it was so wonderful - loved the fact that we used colors other than chocolate, blue, and green! The last 3 showers I was involved with they were boys and those were our colors - ha! She is having a precious baby girl so she is using damask pattern in black and white with accents of red! It was very pretty :)

Zoo Dayz

We took our first trip to the Zoo last weekend and I think it was a hit!

This sweet penguin kept coming to the glass and poking his nose at Logan making Logan crack up - no joke. He was staring at us like he wanted to greet us - how funny! Well Logan thought it was the neatest thing - he laughed and giggled. So precious :)

It was pretty late - 4 pm and we decided on a whim to go check it out after Logans nap. All the animals were about to eat dinner and this small tiger looking cat below was pacing all over his cage. Since Logan is really into animals (mainly tigers, lions, and monkeys) I told him it was a tiger and roared at it. It hissed at me and Logan thought that was great and he started grrr'ing at it!

Logan wasn't sure what to think about the Giraffes - not too impressed :)

I was so excited for him to see a real tiger and lion! He roar's and grrrr's all day long at his books but to see a live one - wow! Of course he didn't really understand, but he stared at the lion for a long time and I was excitedly telling him it grrrr's and he finally started roaring to him :)

I know everyone loves their kids - but really y'all. You are never prepared for how much you will love your children. I feel like my heart is gonna burst wide open and all that mushy love is going to fill up the whole room! He is my heart - sweet stinker

We saw the monkeys! He was right up near the cage but I don't know if Logan saw him - I was oooooh ooooh ah ah ah'ing like a crazy person and that poor monkey looked at me like "seriously woman - leave me alone" haha

It was so much fun and I am just so looking forward to our future with him - all the fun things we are going to get to do...its like you are a child again getting so very excited to see it all through their eyes!
He is doing so well with his sippy cups - drinks milk very well and this is right before bed while watching his baby Einstein video.

Meal time is going good most days - I still put new food on his tray and he still flicks or drops it on the floor without even trying it. Oh dear. We are working on that - he is starting to know that when I say "no sir" I mean it - he hasn't laughed at me the last few days so that is progress!

He is doing so good at MDO! Today was the first day he only cried 10 minutes! He did cry when I dropped him off but he quickly started playing with toys and they said he walked around the room like he owned it and would speed crawl all over the place. He ate ALL his food and took a little nap. Hooray! His best day yet!!

I know I mentioned it before but he is even more obsessed with ceiling fans (if that is even possible!) He walks into every room and immediately demands for the "wa wa" to be turned on. He says it with force like he is making a statement. Cracks me up! He calls the fan wa wa and also water wa wa - confusing times :) We were in a restaurant the other day and half their fans were on and the other half we not - he kept saying "wa wa wa wa wa!" because he didnt understand why they weren't all spinning. Never a dull moment folks :)
Oh and today he figured out how to throw the ball to me - sort of. And he would laugh so hard when he dropped it and then I picked it up to toss back to him. He thought that was the best game.
I feel like every day is such a blessing with him - I get to watch him learn and master skills and feel so fortunate I am at home to see everything. The dishes might be piled in the sink and the baseboards might be dusty but I love all our quality time we get to spend together whether its reading books - playing with toys, walking around the house or at playdates and the wonder place. Oh and lets not forget walks - this kid LOVES his stroller and walks!!!

I am so excited to announce that I have joined the Thirty-One family and am starting my very own little business adventure!! Have you heard of 31? I sure hadn't - my dear friend Amber in Dallas told me all about it and said it was right up my alley - well she couldn't have been more right!! I browsed a catalog just thinking I would buy a few things then the heavens opened up and birds chirped and low and behold I thought "Wait a minute - I love these products already and everyone knows I am all about purses, totes, bags, etc why couldn't I sell these amazing items?" Um...I CAN!! Folks - I bought the starter kit sight unseen - yep. True story. This little hot pink beauty arrived a few days later...

And I couldn't be happier and more pleased - I immediately started getting excited and prepared my launch party which occurred September 29th. It was fabulous and very successful thanks to my sweet family and friends!! I have been working very hard - non-stop in fact trying to get ready and build my business. It has been a challenge with Logan since he is also non-stop walking and only takes 1 nap a day now - eek! But I can earn some extra money and do what I love - SHOPPING and just think...when I go to work I go to a PARTY! Who else can say that? :)

I invited almost everyone I knew to my launch party per the instructions that came with my packet basically to let everyone know what my new business is and to get my name out there. The GREAT news is that LR isn't a saturated market yet - there actually isn't a big Director yet, so that has been nice to know its not everywhere and I have a lot of other consultants at this point in my business. I also made up cute fall goodie bags and delivered them to all my neighbors to let them know - I included yummy fall candy in case they weren't interested :)

This also arrived - my first purchase and its called the OUT - Organizing Utility Tote and its genius - seriously. I have been using it everyday for Logan's stuff (the best diaper bag ever - promise!) it holds sooooooo many things and has 7 (yes 7) pockets on the outside! Plus its roomy inside. I wish I knew about these before he was born I would have bought one for all my friends!

This precious little boy is beyond excited its Halloween Month!!

hahaha - this face cracks me up! He goes from laughing to this - man this kiddo is funny if thats not a smirk I don't know what is!

We have been BUSY this past week - Trey was out of town on a guys trip and I was preparing all week for the launch of my new business adventure - more on that later :) So I found this little musical chair for L at Rhea Lanas for 8 bucks - a steal!

of course what does he immediately do? Flips it over to see if it has wheels to spin - ooooh such a little boy :)

Grammy and I took him to the park last weekend for a little while - he enjoyed being outside and sliding on the slide with a little help :)

He looks so big in his pants and shoes!

He is so funny - he watches Classical Baby sometimes and there is this one song that he hates - he is so terrified of the video that plays during this song and cries and finds me to hold him or make it fast forward...here he is peering at it from a safe distance...

there is something about the sun carrying around this baby while music is playing that really upsets him

He has been LOVING this book - as you can see a little too much...

he loves walking into his room and seeing if the fan is on or off - if its off he says "wa wa wa" really loudly which means turn it on mama!!! So he is now using wa wa for the fan and water :) He LOVES this tiger book that sits on his shelf in his room - look how excited he is for me to read it to him for the 15th time today... haha

His Gi Gi got him this cute duck for Easter and he still LOVES it - too cute!

14 months!

Someone is SUPER excited to be 14 months and fever free!! We have been sick over here - for days...ugh. He was a mix of teething (cutting all 4 molars top and bottom!) and snotty, stuffy, and feverish. We took him to the doctor and they said a Fever Virus (which is I think what they say when they have zero clue what is wrong with your child) Makes sense right?

His strep test came back negative so that was good and ears looked great. Humph. Doesn't explain why he was SCREAMING yesterday - totally unhappy until we went to visit Grammy and Grandad and then he was distracted, but still didn't feel good. Poor little guy :( And to top it all off I am not feeling good - sore throat and stuffy, achy too so maybe I have what he has without the temp? Who knows...I just know I want everyone in our house to FEEL better!!

Whatevs mom

So here is what 14 months looks like:

- 22 lbs at the sick visit this week
- probably 30-31 inches
-sleeping 7 pm - 7 am and 1, maybe 2 naps during the day. These are very random - usually about 1-2 hours total, usually on the lighter side.
-eats 3 meals and 2 snacks. Still kinda picky - loves cheese toast, pb sandwiches, chicken nugguts, puree food, cheese, puffs, gerber cereal bars, cheerios, bananas, and waffles. Still doesn't like green veggies or any other items for that matter (no potatoes, etc)

- size 4 diapers, 5 at night
- drinks sippy cups with water and milk through the day and we finally took away the evening bottle - he did great! Did fuss just doesnt drink that much of his milk but its getting better.

- Has a temper on him! He gets frustrated and cries out and gets angry/upset when you tell him "no touch" and move him away from said object. He will definitely test his boundaries. Can definitely be a little stinker :)

- loves books - story time is his favorite! still loves wheels and things that spin, is walking everywhere almost all the time!! Rarely crawls at home. He can say dog, wa wa for water, ball, mama, dada, he also calls the fan wawa.

He is such a joy to be around - I love his little personality and even though its exhausting when he is sick - that little smile when I go into get him in the morning just radiates all over me. Love that sweet sweet boy!

How excited are you that FALL IS HERE!!!!!???? I AM!!!!!!!!!! :) Bring on the pumpkin spice lattes (already had 4!) cinnamon candles, ugg boots, yummy chili, and crisp weather!!!

I feel like I have been MIA on the blog front - sorry folks. Life just gets in the way! Lets see, we have been trying to get out of the house at least once every day...Logan just seems to get bored if we just hang around the house and now that he is trying to only nap once a day that makes it more difficult to keep him entertained. Speaking of naps that whole thing has me confused! We were right on track doing so well and of course that is when things change....always ;)

So I still put him down at 10 or 11 am and then again at 2-3 pm. But sometimes he sleeps and sometimes he plays. Even if he misses his morning nap he will only sleep 1 hour maybe an hour and a half which seems not a lot to go from 7 am - 7 pm with only 1 hour nap! I know every baby is different so maybe he doesn't require that much sleep during the day. But Mama is exhausted!!!

I started Bloom back (was Moms n More last year) which is a bible study at Fellowship Church for Mamas! It is Uh-Mazing....we were all so excited to go back and get inspired. We are reading "Parenting is Heart Work" and I think it will be fantastic. But, Logan was not too thrilled to be in the nursery for 2 hours. When I dropped him off it was INSANE as there are over 200 women and kiddos this year!!! There were 3 kids crying in his room so he immediately started crying when I handed him over the door. Poor little guy :( I had to help a friend get her child to his classroom because she just had surgery and he was in the same class as Logan. Logan didn't see me but I could see him from the window next to the door and it about broke my heart. He was very upset crying and crawling to try to find a teacher to hold him but all the teachers were busy holding other kids and getting people checked in....I had to vacate immediately before I had a breakdown! I know he will be okay but it really upset me that he was so upset and no one could comfort him :(

So when we picked them back up he was fine - playing thank goodness! But when we got home he was dying of thirst and gobbled up so much food it was crazy - he also downed a whole cup of milk and lots of water which he NEVER does so I thought maybe they didn't offer a snack and something to drink which I specifically told them he would need a snack/drink that I packed. It didn't look like any was gone from what I packed. Humph. I know it was the first day but it didn't leave me feeling confident about this nursery. I will obviously give it more time but luckily Trey is off some Tuesdays so he can watch him too.

MDO is going okay - we love them but he is having problems getting used to the drop off. In fact Thursday he started crying from the moment we walked into the room. He has never done that. I hugged him and handed over his bag and left sort of quickly but it was too much for him. I called to check in after an hour and he was in and out of crying fits. He basically didn't calm down until lunchtime when he got into his highchair and ate lunch. But they said it was on and off so they didn't see a need for me to come get him. He would play then almost realize I wasn't there or that he should be upset so he would cry again. I brought his two favorite books and those didn't even help he just pushed them away. But I guess what works at home doesn't work everywhere.

So he did eat ALL of his lunch - hooray! The first time there he has eaten more than a few bites! Then he played in his crib and fell asleep for 25 min. They said they always have to rub his back to get him to fall asleep which we never do at home but I think its because he is in a weird room with PEOPLE! He is in a dark quiet room at home so totally different situation. He was fine when I picked him up so that was good! Oh another thing to note is that one of the things he does for comfort is chew on my hair and lightly pinch my neck - both of which are not the most comfortable...so I try to distract but usually when I pick him up the teachers talk to me for a little while and he does it the whole time... interesting!

He was loving brushing these boogie wipes on the air grates. He did this for a long time :)

He cracks me up - he really tries to make us laugh and its so cute!! He is such a sweet little boy but does have a temper and will let you know when things aren't going his way. But I wouldn't have him any other way - I love spending my days with him watching him learn and grow - and one of my favorite things is when he pulls out a book and comes to sit in my lap for me to read it too him. Ahhhh melts my heart :)

Busy Busy!

We had a very busy day - it was Logan's professional picture day for his third and final session with Kristin! He did amazing - such a sweet boy and she said she got some great ones :)

He will still hang out in the pack n play which is a lifesaver!! I stick him in there several times a day for short periods of time while I get ready to go somewhere, clean up a quick mess, or some times he just wants to be in there with his toys - I think he feels safe and secure. Like his crib - he loves that too! Sometimes after nap its like he wants to get out of the crib but then again he loves it and will sit back down and play with his burp cloth for a little while. Too funny!

Such a little man - we went to a birthday party this weekend and I put shoes on him for the first time at a function - since he is walking more I figured it was a good time to do it. He looked so adorable and OLD!

We had so much fun at the party but I made a big ole mistake. He had his snacks and was getting hungry for lunch but we were leaving soon and I ate a few bites of cake and let him try some. I didn't think it was a big deal because he is not into food usually - he likes his favorites but then never gets upset when its taken away, etc. So I threw it away and the tears started forming. He sobbed and cried and wouldn't stop. Poor guy. I think he was tired too...but Lauren finally got him calmed - she made him laugh and that helped him forget that yummy cake that mean ole mommy threw away :)

We had our 3rd week of MDO last week and poor thing realized I was leaving him :( I knew it would happen sooner or later but whoa. It broke my heart but I know he would be totally fine. He smiled at his teacher then wobbled back over to me and grabbed onto my leg which he never does. He is not a clingy child so as soon as I tried to pry him off he started crying. A teacher held him and tried to get toys involved and I left. When I went to pick him up they said it took him awhile to calm down which I was surprised. He finally did when they gave him his burp cloth but after the director came in to help soothe him. Good news is that he did eat lunch and slept 40 minutes! hooray - victory!

We start Bloom back (formally Moms n More) tomorrow and he will be in that nursery for 2 hours. Hopefully he will do great! :)

Walk This Way

Yep! Its Official - I have a WALKER!!!!!!!!!!! I have been debating whether or not to mention this big statement but finally feel like he is actually walking since he has walked across the living room and kitchen several times - in fact today he walked more than ever - he crawls fast when he is tired. He is sooooo fast when he crawls! Here he is taking off...

Frozen still - I told him NO because this was the 3rd time he touched the blinds. He is definitely testing me :)

And....he's pooped!

Its so funny he actually really likes playing in his pack n play during the day at random times. I keep toys in it and a cd player near so he can listen to his music. If I am getting ready or can't watch him I will let him play inside and loves it!

He discovered the vacuum cord and it was instant love - I had to watch him though because he tried to wrap it around the back of his neck - eeek. He had a ball until I finally packed it away. He was so upset - pitched a little fit to let me know his feelings.

He is so active - barely sits still.

We still have his jumper up for random occasions - he rarely ever gets inside but he will play and walk around the outside once a day or so. As soon as he really takes off around the house walking I am sure he will be over it.

Poor little guy - he hit his head on the slate kitchen floor then I accidentally opened his drawer in his room and he got whacked again in the same spot! Mommy felt AWFUL :(

He got his first taste of a doughnut - and loved it! Well the first time he did, the second he wasn't so sure - haha

Andrew, Amber, and Aubrey came into town over the weekend for his sisters Wedding. They stayed with us and we all had alotta fun. It was neat to see Aubrey and Logan playing together. He was fascinated with her curly hair and tried to get a handful too many times to count - I had to watch him like a hawk because he would grab it and pull it! Aubrey was so sweet to him and she would just sit there like "help me!" while I pried his little fingers away from her precious curls. :)

Oh well - another day, another time :) Also, Logan can say Wa Wa for water, Dog, and Ball (but dog and ball are works in progress) and man is he getting a little hot temper! He freaks out when you pull him away from anything he wants - and has a melt down. Whew! I thought this behavior didnt start until Terrible Twos? But I did read in my doctors notes that at this age they can become negative and have tempers also testing limits and naps become harder to come by which is the darn truth at our house. He only takes 1 nap but its only for like an hour to hour and a half. He is so exhausted he gets in a bad mood. I put him down 2 times a day but still - only 1 nap. Oh well, this too shall pass. (I feel like I say that all the time, right?) haha

He looks so big watching his baby einstein night dvd - my little toddler.

And what a toddler he is let me tell you! He has been pushing and testing limits all day long - he giggles and laughs when I tell him "no" and brushes food off his tray and laughs when I remove the tray with the food. Oh dear... I know he is too little to really understand whats going on - but I've got to remind myself that when he is hysterically laughing at me while I am being so serious. (of course its also hard not to laugh bc he is so stinkin cute...but I don't dare laugh!)

13 Months!

I am a little late, but nevertheless I cannot believe that Logan is passed the 12 month mark - wow!

At 13 months he is wearing a size 4 diaper (5 at night)

He eats three full meals a day and 2 snacks before naptime. He is on sippy cup in the day and really likes water but isnt a huge fan of milk, and as of now he still takes a 7 oz bottle at night.

He can Grrr when he sees a picture of a Tiger or Lion and if you say what does a Tiger say? He will roar. He has made the monkey noise a few times when you point to the monkey.

He loves loves loves to read and be read too which is so amazing - I love our story time together every day a few times a day :)

He is trying to drop his AM nap (I am pretty sure) this past week he hasnt fallen asleep at all when I lay him down. He plays the whole time so I guess we are down to 1 nap a day.

He started MDO on thursdays and that is a huge step - I think he is really going to like it and I know Mama will :)

I just can't believe how much love I have for him and how precious he is to me - he is such a ray of sunlight in my world every single day and I am SO thankful for that!

We went to his best bud Austin's birthday and he had a blast!! It was at the Little Gym which is a super cool place and he could crawl around everywhere which he loved. We sat him right there on the mat and off he went - and didn't stop until an hour or so later!

It was funny because they had a semi organized circle time and Logan wanted nothing to do with it - he wouldn't stay in my lap so I let him crawl where he wanted which was anywhere but circle time - haha

Can you believe he is THIS BIG!!!???

We had such a good time and Lauren did an amazing job decorating and planning - it was a huge success! I must note this was the first time Logan accidentally bit me and it drew blood though. I was holding him while Trey ate a bite of party food when he nuzzled into my shoulder and took a chunk out of me while trying to chew on my top. OUCH! I jerked back because it hurt like hell and it shocked me and said "No! No Bite!" He looked shocked and then buried his head into my neck. Of course everyone was looking at me but you gotta do what you gotta do :)

First Day of "School!"

Look at that precious little man!! We were on our way to his first day at Mothers Day Out or "School" as we call it :) I have been thinking about this day for a long time and its finally here which is bittersweet. Of course its so nice to get things done without worrying about a baby and toting him around all over town and to have some ME time...but it is hard to drop him off and not know if he will be okay without me - will he cry? Will they give him his water if he's thirsty? Will they know how he eats lunch and how much? How will he do at naptime and will they put him down like we do at home by singing Twinkle Little Star?? Ooooohhh all these questions can drive you insane!!! But, bottom line, he will adjust to their schedule and end up loving it hopefully :) And its okay if they do things a little differently than we do at home. Just as long as he feels safe and has fun.

And of course that is exactly how it went... I dropped him off at 9 am and set him down in the room. He was only the second child to arrive in a class of 10 kids. He immediately saw an exersaucer and went over to inspect the toys on the side of it. I put up his bag on his hook (and was giddy to see his little name posted above the hook!! This is the moment you wait for - you pick a name you love and I finally saw it posted in a classroom for all to see...its official!!) I talked about his schedule to one of his teachers and made sure she knew he needed his burp cloth lovie for naptime and to sing twinkle little star bc that signals naptime and she understood. I looked over and he was still playing by himself like a big boy while the Director was talking to him and watching him. I waved bye and said "Bye Logan". He didn't look up. Not for a second! Haha - I closed the door and left and didn't cry a single tear - I was soooo proud of myself!! I think because I prayed right before we walked in for him to be happy and have a good day and I felt a sense of calm rush over me that he would be alright - and I would too. :) I am glad he is so different from the way I was when I was little. I was painfully shy and observant but he just dives right into the action and will go up to almost anyone which is so good - I am thankful for that for now. Of course we will have to have the "Stranger Danger" talk at some point ;)

I felt really good about leaving him - they are sooo very nice and I trust the teachers plus he was like "Peace Out Yo" as soon as we got there so that made me feel confident. And the Director just emailed me and said "Logan is doing Great! He is such a happy baby!" Ahhhhh music to a mamas ears :)

Eating breakfast this morning before we left - he slept in until 8 am but I finally had to wake him up so we wouldnt be late.

Last night I took some pics because I feel like he is growing at an insane pace and need to document more - but we are sooo busy it has been hard. Let see, he took FOUR steps yesterday!!!! He has taken one or two here and there but this was 4 big steps and he didn't even know he did it! I was at my moms and we both saw him - hooray! He is standing so well on his own and walking good holding one of our hands.

He often sings or as of two days ago, screams in delight, when he is happy playing :)

He will pull all the chairs and high chair around like push toys - he loves it but it makes for a very noisy kitchen :)

He passed his infant swimming lessons!!! I consider them super successful because he went from hating bathtime to loving it!! Hooray for Aunt Lauren!! She did an amazing job teaching our babies and his last day he just splashed and laughed in the water the whole time.

Update: just picked him up from MDO and he did great most of the day - he was happy and played well with others. He ate pureed food but wasn't big on his cheese toast which was strange - he usually loves it. But he was in a weird place so that was probably why. Naptime was a total fail. He cried for 30 min then they wrapped him in a blanket and rocked him which definitely didn't work because we don't own a rocking chair so he has never been rocked to sleep. And he isn't so big on being wrapped in blankets so I think he was very confused why that was going on. He always goes to sleep on his own but they didn't know what to do bc other babies were trying to sleep so they had to pull out all their tricks which I don't blame them :) He fell asleep for 10 minutes when another child woke up screaming and woke all the other babies up. Bless their hearts. Well, we just got home and he is down for a nap - he fell right asleep. When I walked in the room he was in an exersaucer and I called his name. He looked at me and immediately started smiling and laughing. It was so funny - like a laugh I had never heard kinda like "oh you didn't forget about me! Where have you been?" It was precious - we hugged and he grrrr'd like a tiger and started talking about his day - haha it was adorable :) I was SO glad to see him!!

Big Boy Fun!

We have definitely been trying to get out of the house lately since Logan is on the move and he seems to get bored (okay honestly maybe Mama gets a little cabin fever) exploring the house over and over again. Especially when he doesn't have a good nap which has been the case these days. I don't know if he is trying to drop one nap but its hit or miss if he actually goes to sleep for the AM and PM nap. But at least he will have rest time and plays quietly to himself and doesn't cry. Thank goodness for that cause Mama needs that "rest time"!! So lets say he wakes up at 2 or 2:30 pm that means he is up from that point until 7 when he goes to bed. And let me tell you there is only so many times he can push the kitchen chairs all around and try to push past the gate to get to Sophies food. Whew! So we do playdates at least 2 times a week and go to The Wonder Place other days which is so nice to let him just go wild exploring all over.

He loves to do this while he is watching Sophie eat her food. Every time he hears her munching he runs to the gate and bites it while staring at her.
She is pretty fascinating dude :)

We went to the Mall the other day so I could replenish my soap collection since I have resorted to using Winter Candy Apple in the kitchen because I ran out of my summer/spring soaps! And I know it sounds crazy but that is a pet peeve of mine to see or use holiday things when it is not even close to that holiday - its still blazing hot outside folks :)

Lauren and Austin met us there and the boys had a good time strolling around with us and were on their best behavior... as long as we were walking :)

Here is Logan getting more and more used to the sippy cup - Praise! But look at that stink face - he still isn't a huge fan :) He sips the milk at meal time and does drink some water when he is playing - but not a lot. I would be so thirsty if I were him but I guess he is fine. He still takes 7 oz of whole milk in a bottle before bed but we will have to break that soon...

We met our playgroup at the Rock Creek Church Playtubes this past week and everyone had a blast - and the best part is that they are FREE. Yes, let me repeat that. F R E E!!!

These kiddos had a ball - it was our first time to go and it is a pretty big playspace. It will be great for when they are older because it is made for walkers and older toddlers too (think Mc Donalds/Chick fil A playspace with large tubes) but they had plenty for crawlers too.

Mine was ALL over the place - I was exhausted!! He was more fascinated with the floor and door to get out and all the chairs he could try to move around than the actual padding area built for babies - haha

So at the very end all babies were having snacks and one of them dropped over a goldfish bag and of course they swarmed the floor like hawks! It was hilarious and Logan was right front and center - he dove and horded 10 goldfish to make sure he staked his claim. Too funny!

I am off to see The Help with some of my girlfriends today and I am SO excited - the book was Uh-Mazing so hopefully the movie will not disappoint. We are having a low key weekend and a sort of busy week ahead - Logan starts MDO on thursday so I am in full panic mode!!!! And we also find out what Somerset and Steven are having too so that has been super exciting :)

Old School...

Logan is doing a little throwback to the 80s with a little Tie Dye! His sweet cousins sent him this super cool shirt and he hasn't been big enough to wear it until now. He looked so grown up sporting his awesome tie dye :)

He was fascinated with his reflection in the oven so he spent a good amount of time checking himself out and giggling :)

We have been going to playdates and we even hosted a mini playdate on Monday which was fun and low key. I am getting so excited that summer is wrapping up and the beautiful Fall is rapidly approaching!!! I can hardly stand it - I am NOT a summer girl, I have been counting the days until it leaves us alone until next year. I am ready for crisp weather, walks outside, pumpkin spice lattes, fall candles, and ugg boots. I know Logan will LOVE the fall too :)

Poor little guy - he threw up before bed tonight and I don't think he is sick as you can see in this photo taken a few minutes after which he was having Naked Time in his crib as mommy cleaned up the changing table, the floor, drawers, and myself. Ewwww. He ate a big dinner then drank 8 oz of whole milk and when I laid him on the changing table after his video he started to get upset and then spewed all over himself and everything else. But as soon as he was done he seemed fine. I set him on the floor to start cleaning up and he promptly peed all over himself and the carpet. Fun times people, fun times. So, in the crib with some toys he went and he had a ball jumping and throwing toys over the crib while Moi cleaned up the nastiness. I think he is fine now, no fever and acting normal. Maybe he drank too much? We shall see come morning...

Oh in other news he can eat and seems to like peanut butter!!! hooray! I have been stressing out about when to give him PB for the first time bc of all the research on nut allergies, etc and his doctor said at one year it should be fine based on new research, etc. So, for a week I let him sample it, just a little, then finally I let him have a PB sandwich torn into little pieces and he loved it! This makes me so happy bc its good protein and I happen to love PB and eat it almost every day for bfast on toast :)

The Wave!

So I am sure you are dying to know how Sippy Cup Hell is going? Its MUCH better!! After four days of boycotting anything liquid he finally took some sips from his cup and its been better. He isn't gulping yet but at least he can drink from it and usually its in his high chair after a meal of snack he will take 4-8 sips. I am feeling good about it - man that was a hard few days that I thought would never end. Of course I said the same thing about him not sleeping when he was a newborn and that passed :) But its torture when you are going through it! He still gets a 8 oz bottle before bed and that is perfectly okay with me for now. It ensures he gets at least 8 oz of his 16 oz minimum of milk per day and that he won't dehydrate.

So onto our next achievement! He can finally WAVE!!!!!! You have no idea how long we worked on this (also clapping but he still won't do that) so he can pretty much wave both hands on command - ie when he feels like it :)

He is so funny, this is his new favorite position while playing - looking under everything and laying down to see the different angles...

It was Grandaddy's birthday this past week so we emailed him a few pics of Logan wishing him a happy bday with this sign :)

One of our playdates this past week was Pudding for toddlers! Meagan did a wonderful job making all kinds of fun colors/flavors for the babies to sample and get messy with. Logan was the first to check it out...

but after a second he was done. He stood up and cried until I cleaned him off and held him. Poor thing - I don't think he liked the feeling of all that pudding on his hands/feet :)

Here it is!! The Big WAVE! He has also taken two very shaky steps but they were total accident - he was holding onto the couch and his jumper was right next to it so he let go and pretty much fell into the jumper but his hands were free for those two little hobbles! He can also hold onto one of our hands and walk a little. He is almost saying "Ball" and I asked him if he wanted to pick out a book and he put down his toy and went over to his book basket to grab a few books! Not sure if he really knows, but that was pretty amazing :)
